Crowton is consistent if you look at his stats from his last few coaching jobs (they've been posted on here a bunch). Great first year and goes in the crapper more and more each year after.

A few years ago folks on here called him the wizard.

His shite was hard to enjoy watching then too though.

Been a Miles fan for a long time, but if he doesn't get rid of this sorry SOB by next season I may change my mind. Crowton is so full of S*&%, his eyes are brown.

He's not very good. Oregon fans came on the board when we got him and said "You will love him in year 1 and 2, then it's downhill from there" There was some data that backed this up in Chicago, BYU, and Oregon, and now we have another data point at LSU.

His scheme is bad. His situational playcalling is bad, and IMO the biggest thing is that he doesn't adjust to players strengths AT ALL.

1) I don't think he can develop a QB. if he gets someone already fairly into his career and developed (like Flynn or Doman), he looks good. if not, he still might call a game like he's got a vet, which leads to fans breaking stuff and getting their pitchforks.

2) he tries to do too much/ get too cute. with LSU in particular I think there's been a lotta times when he out-thought himself rather than sticking with a hot hand/ plays that work. it's like he anticipates the defense stopping him and switches stuff up before they actually do.

unless it's the toss to Ridley on the goal line. he's ride or die on that.

I've followed him since he was at Louisiana Tech. Flat out, this isn't his offense. Miles is tampering far more than the members of this board think.

very simple, he lost flynn, helms, and johnson. it's more about the players than it is the coaches. see texas.

QB play. His offense relies heavily on rhythm and setting plays up with other plays. When you can't run your whole play book... well you can't run your offense.

I am still NOT convinced that it is ALL Crowton. Miles has his hands in that offense.

Crowton just tries too much on offense besides keeping things simple and sticking with basics. His playcalling is pretty poor and his QB development is beyond terrible. He is the biggest problem with this LSU program right now, LSU will never be in serious contention for an SEC Championship until Gary Crowton is fired.

I do think Miles has a little influence...but I think most of it is on Crowton. We didn't have these kind of problems with Fisher as OC, and everyone said Miles was overriding him too.

Google Gary Crowton and Picklewagon and read the article about the history of Crowton's coaching career and you'll understand Gary Crowton.
