Eventually, fans will be priced out of football games.

Spare me the "someone will pay" bullshite. While that may be true in a lot of cases I expect tailgating to be very different next year. Sure, for the Floridas and Auburns of the world the place will be packed but we have NSU and West.Kentucky coming in plus UK from the east. That's 3 games that no one will give a shite about. Campus will be absolutely dead. Every week our group has to fight to get garbage cans and wait for bathrooms to open up at 11 for a 7pm game. For Bama they shut down the entire campus with NO NOTICE to anyone and it was an absolute cluster-frick all day long. Then I got yelled at by Mr. LSUPD for throwing the football in the street. Keep in mind it was a closed street where we maybe saw a dozen cars roll by all day long. LSU just keeps fricking with the fans and eventually it will catch up to them. Maybe not while we're winning but Lord help them when/if we have a 4 or 5 loss season.

Btw, I'll probably still get the damn parking pass next year but that's not the point.

It wont be long before you will have to pay for your tailgating spot

I have zero problem with either. Yeah, I could wait for a building to open to piss, but I use the portables.

I might be mistaken, but I think this is common practice for every game.

ill take your ticket if you are that pissed off
btw as long as LSU is a 7 or 8+ win team Tiger stadium will always be 90+ thousand full every single game. Tailgating and football is a way of life down here people will be tailgating rain or shine.

Unfortunately getting the parking pass is exactly the point. They know you and thousands of others will pay it.

Well, we don't have portolets by us so we don't have that choice.

I've been to every home game since '97 and I don't ever remember them closing the entire inner part of campus at 8am for a 2:30 game. It was very empty all down S.Stadium and the Ag lot was a nightmare. People were parked in the neighborhood off of LSU Ave. It was ridiculous.

There will always be people to take those tickets and there will always be tailgators. If the tailgators can't afford another $20, maybe they should not be going to the games anyway and use their hard earned money where it is more needed.

they usually shut down campus 3 hours before kickoff, for the bama game it was way earlier than that.

I would be more than fine with $20 a game. $40 to park 15 minutes from the stadium is beyond stupid. I'll be essentially buying another season ticket next year with the parking pass.

I bought a parking pass this season. It is terrible, out in new Alex Box lot. When leaving, they make you go to Bluebonnet before you can turn.

Likely so, but LSU is a business. The money issues are a matter of supply and demand. If people aren't willing to pay the price and they lose money, they'll have to lower the price. However, if they can raise the price and not lose business, that's what they will do. The other issues such as complaints about how they run things on game day will only change if enough people voice their displeasure with the Athletic Dept. If it's not a safety issue, I can't see why they would not change it.

I'm curious as to how LSU now compares with other top football program regarding ticket prices, parking, donations, etc.
For all the complaining everyone seems to do any time prices go up, I believe LSU is still one of the cheapest. You people expect to put a grade A product on the field and stay competitive with facilities around the country, but you dont want to pay for it. Kinda reminds me of the mentality of a certain demographic in this country

Spare me the social commentary. I get all of what you're saying but it's still bullshite. Last time I checked LSU was 12th in total revenue so cry me a fricking river.

Ive been hearing stuff like this for the last 15 years, basically everytime a change is made....and LSU is still packed on Saturdays. There is ALWAYS less people tailgating for the weaker teams...its been like that as long as ive been going to games. But i seriously doubt it will "dead" for those games....there will still be thousands of people on campus even for NSU and W. Kentucky.

Dude, there's only like 2 lots that will still be free. They'll be full by 7am.
