If we lose on Saturday is there going to be a big loss of enthusiasm for him on this board?

I'd put the chances of losing at less than 5%

He wins out or back to DL. we will see

absolutely

this is Missouri...they lost to UGA

UGA is terrible

if LSU loses this game, people will need to accept the reality that this season is about to get ugly...like really ugly

Exactly, lose 21 to 3 and I think there will be plenty of people bitching and moaning about how Alleva screwed everything up.

If we don't handle Mizzou in a big way, you can write off the rest of this season. PERIOD!

Only from those who already want O has the permanent head coach. Tiger fans should support the team regardless of how things play out over the next 8 weeks because a NEW coach will be named after the season and his name may or may not be Orgeron.

Mizzou is on a roll with their offense. We need to stay on coverage and hold the line. If we do these things we win.

for the OP..

We'll destroy Missoura, but rest of the season is still going to be tough. The Oline is mediocre, and that won't change soon.

If you've been listening to Coach O talk, he's told you what the rest of this season is about. It might have sounded like coach speak to you, but it wasnt. The rest of this season is about the TEAM! It's not about the coaches or the individual players or the coaching search. It's about moving forward together as a fan base and the Tigers we support. If you ever said your problem was with the coach and not the team, NOW IS YOUR TIME TO SHOW IT! I'm 100% behind these players and this team for the rest of the year no matter what happens in each game. Because they chose to be Tigers, not to be the fighting Les Miles'.

Eta: I'm not going to crap on O for losing games after taking over mid-season. I will take into account the fact that he took over a program mid-season and only added one new coach to the program. Expectations are low, excitement is high. I feel like it's the mid 2000s again.

There's no enthusiasm for Coach O on this board.

And if there's a loss, no one's going to boo him.

He's 16-27 as a head coach and there are no expectations that he will do anything different.

No matter what happens, LSU will do the smart thing and hire a real HC.

I would like to win, but I wouldn't be crushed if we lost. I want the team to do well, but these interim things can be tough.

LSU fans are bipolar nutjobs for the most part. They will be ready to tar and feather him if we lose Saturday. I would add drunk to the bipolar nutjob part too.

My goals for the game: (1) win, (2) improve on offense.

We gained 388 yards O vs AU, and average 340 for the year (#99 cfb). We have sucked so far.

If we can show some improvement on O and get in the 400+ yard range I will be happy. Also assuming the D will look good and hold Mizzou.

Being an IHC can be tough and we have sucked on offense so far this year. Coach O has had less than a week, and has a tough job right now. We should be happy with modest improvement here rather than going fullbatshit with winning out and SEC/NC hopes.

After the large amount of points put up last week by big MO, I don't know what to think. However less than a week is hard to judge a season or coaching ability on. I'm rooting for them to win as I always do. I recognize there has been a complete upheaval in this LSU team and it could affect the team either way. I like the enthusiasm Coach O has brought to the table. I like that he's a 'fan' of the team being a Louisiana boy. He seems to grasp the lack of discipline and is able to bring corrections because the team trusts him. I'll be bummed if they lose because I want them to win every stinking game and always have. It's not on Coach O this week though either way. It's on the players now in how they do and react. In the end, they're just kids and it's hard to know how they'll react until it's over.

You are joking, right? You don't go from HC, even interim, back to DL at the same school. He'll either be HC or he will go somewhere else.
