Agreed! Beating Bama would mean more to our fan base than winning the NCAA championship.

Personally I would consider a win over Ala. in Tuscaloosa as our national championship game! The chances of us winning there are getting better each day w our renewed swagger, winning streak, and health. This should be a very competitive game if LSU has the right mind set. It's truly amazing that we are actually talking playoff considerations after the Troy game. Most would have taken a winning season and bowl game after that embarrassment.

Well said. I agree. And I was one of those doubters after the Troy debacle. Regardless, I'm proud of the turn around our team is putting together.

I don’t believe we get a pass on losing to Troy and getting embarrassed by State. One or the other yes, but not both

Exactly.

If by some miracle LSU wins out, but still misses the playoff, I can live with it. A playoff team takes care of Troy at home. It's that simple.

Just to play along, it is possible for LSU to make the playoffs, but it would take a miracle.

Our 2 losses are nowhere similar to the 2007 championship season.

Basically we need at least 2 conferences to implode on themselves. PAC-whatever is currently doing that.

The B1G will not as Wisconsin plays nobody until the championship and the other side is PSU OSU and would take a fluke for both to have 2 losses before their championship.

TCU and Oklahoma are the front runners in the 12. They will meet, but they will either both have a loss or TCU will be undefeated.

ACC comes down to Miami, Clemson and Va Tech. Hard to see where each of them end up with 2 losses.

Notre Dame. 1 point loss to Georgia, media darling, most watched program in history, good for ratings.

A 1 loss Bama or Georgia will make it in over a 2 loss LSU unless the committee feels remorse over PSU last year.

Back to reality

Even if LSU wins out I doubt they get much higher than 7 or 8 in the polls.

If we win out we are SEC champs. Leave them out if the playoffs and viewership and credibility will tank.

IF LSU wins out and hands both Alabama and Georgia their only loss, LSU will be in the playoffs.

The talking heads will love the controversy of the "how did a team who lost to Troy" narrative, but when it's all said and done wins over #1 when we play them Bama (who will be top 5 at the end) and #1/#2 UGA when we play them (top 5-6 at the end) will be the difference.

The committee's logic will be "the playoffs started for LSU on Oct 7" with 8 straight SEC wins.

The only thing that could potentially stop LSU in that scenario is a combination of undefeated Washington, undefeated TCU, undefeated Miami/1-Clemson and undefeated PSU/Wisconsin/1-loss Ohio State....and I'd still think LSU might sneak in over TCU in that scenario.

Regardless of anything else, let's just agree that we all hope we'll be having this argument six weeks from
Now.

This would be a great argument to have considering how horribly we started.

WEll Washington already has A loss...

So there that goes....

However... LSU winning out will matter little IF they have 4 other conferece winners with only ONE LOSS...

THAT Troy loss would be huge........

Everyone keeps forgetting NC State. If they win out, they have will victories over Notre Dame, Clemson, and potentially Miami/VTech in the ACC title game. Their one loss was to South Carolina in week 1.

It would take a lot. Probably 10 teams would have to fall apart. And an easier senario would be no conference champs make the playoffs.

They only thing that would get interesting is if they beat #1 bama at their house then beat #1 Georgia in the SECCG. I have no memory of a team ever beating 2 #1 teams before a bowl game.

At the time top 25 and the way they finish is not the same.

Florida is not top 25, TAMU and Auburn will probably end up there, but thats it.

It would take some Cinderella games and a lot of love from the media for LSU to get past 7-8 winning out.

A 30 point loss to Moo and a loss to Troy wont be forgotten or forgiven. The playoff committee said they are voting on the best teams at the end of the year regardless of wins losses, but taking OSU over Penn St showed different. PSU's horrible loss to Michigan kept them out.

We know. Beating bama would be just as sweet as a NC at this point.
