Etling was 138 yards from cracking the Top 10 as a passer in LSU History
In 11 games that included 10 starts, Etling threw for 2,123 yards in 2016.
Tommy Hodson has the 10th best passing season (1986) in Tiger history with 2,261 yards. He also has the No. 5 season (1989) with 2,655 yards and is the all-time leader in school history with 9,115 career passing yards.
Below is a look at the top 10 seasons in Tiger history for passing yards in today’s look at the Tiger record book:
3,347 Rohan Davey (2001)
3,129 JaMarcus Russell (2006)
3,082 Zach Mettenberger (2013)
2,825 Matt Mauck (2003)
2,655 Tommy Hodson (1989)
2,609 Zach Mettenberger (2012)
2,542 Jeff Wickersham (1983)
2,443 JaMarcus Russell (2005)
2,407 Matt Flynn (2007)
2,261 Tommy Hodson (1986)
One extra game last year and Etling cracks the TOP 10 ALL TIME
But he's average.........

Yes, he is, and so has our quarterback play been from a historical standpoint.

He's not bad at all when he can step up in the pocket.

Those stats are sad and shows a lot about our history. 5 of those came from under Miles.
Maybe I saw the stats posted on the 247 board.

Okay great, doesn't change the fact that what we saw from him last year was that of an average QB
Posted on 8/1/17 at 11:09 pm to Dlab2013
And even the best is not top 25 in SEC history.

We don't need someone to put up stupid stats. We need someone that can compliment the running game.
If he can continue to put up about 230 a game it might be enough to make us legit competitors for the SEC.

The kid was injured and had Les and Cam calling the Auburn game! Then had a TE coach calling the plays the rest of the year. By his own admission he couldn't feel one of his fickin legs last year which caused him to lose his form.
You can't honestly say you weren't excited when Harris was pulled and this kid entered the game?
LSU fans wanted a game manager.......you got it. And he can hit a 10 yard out route

I just rewatched the Bama game from last year. Are you sure about that?
Posted on 8/1/17 at 11:43 pm to Dlab2013
A full season of him and his stats would be more like 2700-2800 yards 16 tds 6 picks.

Let's geaux.
I say (if he stays healthy and plays 11 or more games) that he will surpass 2700 yards.
You want to take the under on that?
How much?

We would of won the Wisconsin game with Danny playing.

Etling will never get any respect here because he was labeled subpar before he ever stepped on campus. Short of winning a NC morons here will never acknowledge that he isn't crappy QB.
