I say thumbs up.

I don't know who they are, but I don't think I yelled STFU at the TV one time last night. Their ability to stay in the background really highlights how nauseating some of the "big time" announcers are.

Collins had some really nice things to say about LSU and Tiger Stadium.

Good point. They stayed in the background and didn't say anything obviously stupid.

Brock Huard kept repeating how big and fast the LSU players are, once he said this "looks" like one of the most athletic teams he has ever seen in person, and over and over he kept asking why with all the talent didnt LSU throw down the field.

They definitely beat the hell out of the Davey Jones locker crap, that is for sure. I could have lived without watching them eat jambalaya and cracklin though.

They were a significant improvement over the crap we put up with in the Washington game.

I kept thinking to myself that JJ looked like he just turned 19 about 17 days ago. The problem was the play by play guys would not confirm it.

Yes! When I was a kid I loved Brent Musburger (this was 30 years ago, mind you) Keith Jackson and all the other "drama" guys. Building back-stories (like Davey Jones Locker ) was to be expected when you only had 3 networks. They tried to appeal to a larger audience.

Now the viewers are more sophisticated, but the old guys still follow the old paradigm.

FWIW - I really like Kirk Herbstreet (I know, I know - he hates LSU). Musburger - "those rascals" "that young fella" ugh.

+1

I thought some of the graphics were messed up a couple of times, but that had nothing to do with the announcers.
