Auburn is struggling against the zone read and LSU is running it

Auburn has allowed 293 yards on zone-read rushes this season (6.0 yards per rush), most of any Power 5 defense. LSU had 11 zone-read runs (for 45 yards) in its win against Mississippi State, its second-most such rushes in a game in the last 5 seasons. LINK

I'm guessing we'll see a lot of true zone read plays or designed runs that look like them.

Are we trusting Harris enough to actually read yet or are we calling who gets it before the snap? Looked very good against State either way.

Well they trust him to audible from passes to runs with the box stacked so I would think they trust him to run the read option. It's not rocket science to run it and Harris should be fine doing so.

There were multiple "zone read" plays where Harris either made the wrong decision or it was meant to go to LF7 no matter what.

I can't recall quite a few where the DE crashed down and Harris still handed it off.

I think a team could put every defender at the line, leave all our receivers completely unguarded, both sides of the line open to the outside, and we will still run between the tackles. Then miles can say we wanted to make that call but it didn't present itself. Blah blah blah

LSU's Leonard Fournette has been exceptional fighting for yards as he leads the SEC in yards after contact per game. In his only game of the season, 75 of his 159 yards in Week 2 came after contact.

Sure seemed that way to Jefferson.

Yeah, we should pass more this weekend. (Sarcasm btw).

Harris commented that Cameron actually called the checks, but Harris adjusted the blocking

Looks like Dalton Hilliard stats. Go Tigers.
