In fact, my very first post ever on TD was to see if anyone else in the Austin area wanted to go. I was shot down

Was that the year after the Michael Crabtree catch?

I'm not sure how old you are but if you're past a sophomore in college you're going to be extremely bored at gameday.

Yea and if you want to be up front you're gonna have to get there between 6-6:30 which makes for a long wait. I've gone twice and it's ok for about 30 minutes.

If you've never been you should at least go check it out for a little while. Snap a pic of Ponder's fine arse at least

Read in SI that this is Fowler's last year for his contract. Are they going to renew?

I went for LSU at Auburn in 2008. It was pretty cool being the visiting team fan there

Yeah, all the longhorn fans wanted a piece of Tebow after watching Oklahoma get the bid. Most of my friends here realize UF or UA, Colt or no Colt, they were not winning that game.

For what it's worth ESPN Gameday is nice, but is better on TV. A good percentage is taped and you spend hours baking in the heat and trying to hear footage on large monitors.

my experience as well...you just don't realize how little of that show is actually live...

OP should go just to say he did it, but it is not nearly as exciting as you would think...

It's not the same person. There is a network of WSU alum and they mail the flag around.

I was there for Florida 1997, at least the postgame part. Maybe the last 16 years has swelled Herbie's head, but he was nice back then, he and Fowler signed my Vanderbilt bus trip ticket from the previous week.

I've been to game day every time it's been out here since 2008. In 09 I was right next to the PP windmill. Last year for the bama game me and some friends were right in the front. We had a sign that said "kneel to the SEC" with the helmets of the sec teams who have won bcs titles. We also blew up a pic of a friends face. I would recommend going but your going to be standing up forever and it's really hot

getting up front can be tough

but the way they shoot it makes it look like more people are there then you really think. You can get a decent place even if you show up only a few minuets before they start.
