So if he is shitty in the Spring Game, it doesn't mean he hasn't improved, right?

Probably not. Who knows?

Look I think Krag will help develop JJ but I am going to wait till this folk tale provides some truth on the real cf field.

The Rant after tomorrow.

He does well:

Side 1: He is clearly improved over last season.

Side 2: It was just practice. JJ sucks.

He does poorly:

Side 1: It was only practice. JJ can get better.

Side 2: See!!! Clearly I am vindicated in my notion that JJ sucks. The Spring Game proved it!!!

These are the 2 scenarios.

I will be here to say they are both wrong.

I just want to see consistency from all aspects of the game.

You worry WAY too much about it. JJ has to prove himself on the field and be consistent. Should he do this there will be few "haters."

His legacy is all upon him.

No. . .this is a distraction for me. . .

Yup.

Tell that to J-Russ.

They called for Flynn after any bad play. . .and JR was arguably the greatest QB in LSU's history.

LSU fans on the Rant are generally fricking retarded.

I have many of them saying that if JJ does awesome, it doesn't mean anything. . .it's just practice.

I wonder how many will think the same if he performs poorly?

Several will say they will respond the same. . .
I wonder if this refers to me since I said this earlier

His haters were vocal, but certainly in the minority. JJ's legacy is totally in his hands. You can't please all the people. I can't think of a QB who has/will.

Unfortunately for him, the expectations for the rest of the team are pretty high, so he has a lot of pressure on him..

Do you remember your reactions last year? Don't start bashing on people who start threads tomorrow.....

Yes.

I was in the camp of "JJ sucks. . .Lee sucks a bit more". I maintained that before, during, and after the Spring Game.

I didn't get suckered into thinking they BOTH improved until the Summer Training Camp.

Why? I am consistent.

My stance is "JJ looks to be the most ready to lead the team. . .I just hope somebody steps it up."

Right. The fact one was horrible in the spring game and the other wasn't certainly didn't fool you, at all. Good catch.

Are you going to be ok if another QB takes over from JJ after the first couple of games?

No offense... but going back on post history you haven't liked Lee for a very long time....

quote:

've already said that I'm not 100% on JJ. I just hope he is better than JL, who I don't think is very good.

You know what's funny? People gave me a hard time for not liking the Lee. I was called all kinds of nasty things for saying he isn't very good. Then the Spring Game came and went. One person had even started a thread that said something about how much crow I was going to eat after that game. Then the game wrapped up and the threads changed. They went from being a JL lovefest, to a "Without RP we are screwed".

Now that RP is gone people are deifying Lee again, even though Hatch has been in the system longer, and has at least SOME game experience, AND looked better at the Spring Game. I think Lee will be a serviceable backup, but if LSU has to rely on Lee to be our starter. . .we're hosed.

Don't get me wrong, I'm don't want Lee to fail I just think it is unavoidable. People who say "he could be a Flynn or Mauck for us this year" are TOTALLY missing the boat. Flynn was in here show long before he got his 1st start? Even Mauck understudied as a primary backup. I'm not saying Jefferson will be more ready. What I'm saying is "God, I hope he is!" because we need someone better.

RP is probably a better overall QB than Lee, and a better pure passer. Mobility was a big plus with Lee, but RP is better there too.

The only thing Lee has over RP is a quicker release, and the common sense to stay out of trouble.

I mean just going back on post you didn't like Lee even before the 2008 season started and you had to be warned to stop criticizing/belittling a player.

I went all through the 2008 and it actually got worse....

Yeah, he hasn't. I think its his love of JJ though that drives his extreme distaste of Lee.

Ok with it?

I will be thrilled.

I once said that if I had Peyton Manning at QB, I would still want another guy to beat him out.

I even predicted that Mett would be the starter by game 3. Mett has some work to do to make my prediction accurate.

I know why you think that, but I want to see if you have the guts to admit it.
