If he looks like he has a clue in tomorrow's spring game, I'll start being more optimistic.

God help us all if he looks as lost tomorrow as he did in the 2010 spring game.

Especially considering how loaded the deck is.

does Low recycle this every year with a slight change in the title?

I'm hoping this isn't fool's gold, but this is definitely promising.

His 2010 performance is really inexplicable, when you look back at his number in 2009 (which weren't that bad, but are routinely balled into how pathetic our overall offense was that year).

I think he got arrogant and complacent and just didn't put the work in he need last season...

Footwork is the only thing keeping Lee from being a great LSU QB. Not good, great. The crazy decisions he makes under pressure could be an aside, if he could only set his feet on every throw.

I wonder if Krags has done the same with JL as with JJ?

Ugh, I really disagree with this.

But I don't want to launch into that argument again, and get called a Lee hater for 7 pages of a thread.

This will be your excuse if he does well in the Game.

"well, of course he did so good. . .anyone would have with that talent around him"

or some such

I am a charter member of the "Lee Hater" club.

Why? Because I don't say that Lee is better than Jefferson.

Watch Lee when he steps into a throw. He is a goddam assassin.

His problem is all the other times he throws off his back foot.

Did you look at the rosters? It's the starters vs walk ons and freshman. Obviously Les is doing this to get JJ's confidence sky high. Good coaching move imo, but don't act like the deck isn't clearly stacked for a great performance. If JJ plays with the Purple team and does well, by all means anoint him Cam 2.0.

Go ahead. . .get your story together now. . .

I get it. . .you really don't want JJ to be successful.

I know. You and I are pretty frequently targeted.

He can be, yes.

Throwing off his back foot is definitely an issue, I agree.

He also has a tendency to just bail on the pocket, which is less foot work, more mental IMO.

Not taking the bait. Check my posts today, very Pro JJ. I've said for a while that he will be the starter and everyone needs to support him. It's not going to change, so ride or die with JJ needs to be the attitude.

I could care less if any QB goes 20-20 500 yards and 10 touchdowns it is fricking practice

Oregon is when I will start caring... I've seen/read about guys looking great in practice and then the bright lights of the real game hits and they revert right back into same old habits.

Do you also not care if JJ goes 5-30 for 25 yards and an INT?

It is still fricking practice... my perception of Jefferson is because of the past 2 season not by practice....

Although I will admit it bothers when he makes comments about how he was unmotivated in the past.

Honestly I don't because regardless of his performance tomorrow, HE WILL START AGAINST OREGON.

As it should. What also bothers me is how nobody could beat out an unmotivated JJ.

Says alot about our "depth" at QB the last couple years. . .although JJ was pretty good on 09 for a first year starter.

Exactly Jefferson is the starter... unless an injury happens I fully expect him to be under center on the first series against Oregon.

Spring game won't mean a whole lot and a player could look great. Who cares, if he looks great against Oregon and then continues to build on that then great. However, I will continue to have doubts until he strings together more than a game of good play.

The problem with JJ is always halves.

When he strings together 2 halves, he is pretty good.

Most games he has a good half, and a pathetic half.

I think this was the deciding factor in getting JL to take some snaps. . .
