Reid is thought of as one of the better college players this year. He looked great last year. This year I have noticed some mistakes that seem out of character. I definitely don't want to bash him, but I wanted to know what the rant thought of his play this year. maybe I'm off base.

Examples!????

I think he looks more mature and is playing better at Safety.

Taylor was a great college safety. Claiborne was a shut down CB. Reid is now playing with inexperienced guys. A lot more on his plate. He'll be fine.

He has missed a lot of tackles this year and seems out of position in coverage at times, but he hasn't played too badly. Not as well as expected IMO but he's still a great talent.

examples

Last year he looked like the best tackler on the team. This year I have seen him miss a few.

the auburn te pass in the first quarter that went far, looked like his man.

From what I've seen Reid has spent most of his time backing up Simon. Simon just seems to have lost a step and is prone to getting beat.

He did save the game, though, if you remeber the jersey grab play...good with bad, man...

I think he's pressing to try to make turnovers because of the loss of tyrann. He's put himself out of position a few times, but it's pretty much because he's trying to make a play.

This, and trying to compensate for the inexperience around him. Including Simon.

This hit the nail on the proverbial head! Simon is the one struggling. Plus Reid is probably worried about the freshmen. Matthieu was out of position as a corner at times so Reid covered up. Taylor and Claiborne were the catalyst for the secondary last year IMHO.

All I know that if he doesnt grab the Auburn back by the jersey, Auburn could have likely scored on that play. I do think he has a little less help our there than lastt year due to the inexperience but I believe Reid and Company will be just fine.

Off base. He had a few bad plays vs UNT. Other than that, he's rock solid

Simon gets caught looking to help. Tyraan had this problem. Reid has this problem. Its like everyone is trying too hard to help everyone. Still only gave up 90 yrds rushing, 90 passing. Although AU was bad on Offense, we still have a ways to go. Trust, might be our biggest concern, right now though, but thats cause we are playing some young guys, and the vets might be trying to help, too much.

And if he doesn't take a poor angle, he doesn't have to grab the guy by the jersey to save the touchdown.

Not that he's been bad overall, but there have been few times where he has been noticeably out of position

Wut. Reid is one of our best tacklers, a top 15 draft pick, and is the best safety in America. This thread is stupid.
