An above average offense will move the ball on any team regardless how great an opponents defense is

1 game against the best bama defense of all time doesnt erase an entire season.

We played one of the hardest regular season in cfb history and put up good offensive numbers. Stop measuring our success by just what we do against bama. Its dumb.

We passed for 20 tds and ran for 35. In no way is that average imo.

Youre free to have your opinion and if want to believe one of the most productive offenses in lsu history is average because of what they did in 1.5 games then so be it.

It wasn't just bama. That offense struggled with UK and miss st also. I would love to see the stat on how many teams had a game with 8 straight 3 and outs.

Clemson put up 40+ points on a very elite Alabama defense. It was offense that won that game.

Nope. Clemson had the better offense in the NC game. They had 7 more rushing yards, 70 more passing yards, 14 more completions and 13 more first downs. Their inability to stop Alabama on 3rd and down and prevent big plays cost them the NC.

No jarret lee struggled against Kentucky. Not our offense. We had 18 1st downs.

We had 21 1st downs against miss st. Its not our offense's fault because our special teams and defense set them up for short yardage. 221 yards passing and 150 yards rushing. If you werent happy with our 2011 offense then youll never be happy with a lsu offense. We had a dominant run game and two qbs with qb rating above 138.

Id say numerous teams that faced 2011 bama.

Against sec teams in 2011 that bam defense gave up an average of 170 total yards. You need to brush up on just how dominant their 2011 defense was.
check their defensive splits

So basically 2011 Lsu offense was worse than Vanderbilt and north Texas vs the greatest defense ever to play the sport of football.

THANKS!!!

Again, 1 game doesnt outweigh an entire season. Youre using 1 game against one of the greatest defenses in cfb history to judge our offense rather the 12 games during the regular season where we played one of the toughest schedules in modern cfb history.
20 passing tds, 36 rushing tds, we had 1 game during the regular season with less than 18 1st downs. Thats an above average offense. Deal with it. Your opinion doesnt outweigh facts.

2011 passing tds is 7th most in lsu history.
2011 rushing tds is the 6th most in lsu history. But yeah our offense was jist average. Only footbal ignorant people use a single game to judge an offense or defense's success over an entire season.

So basically 2011 Lsu offense was worse than Vanderbilt and north Texas vs the greatest defense ever to play the sport of football.

Our 2011 defense was average because we gave up over 500 yards to West Virginia.

Marshall held them to 291 yards.

7 different defenses held 2011 west Virginia to less yards than we did. Our 2011 defense was average.
So Marshall and 7 other teams in 2011 were better than our average defense.
THANKS!!!

You're comparing two different sides of the ball and you're great at semantics..

Wvu was an elite offense that moved the ball on an elite defense. That is what suppose to happen.

Using your logic an above avg Lsu offense should look above avg vs an elite defense.

Once again if an offense can't move the ball vs a top notch d they are not above avg.

Then what is elite offense? Youre using 1 game to say one of the most productive offenses in lsu history wasnt above average. Offenses that move the ball against the best defense in cfb are elite.above average defenses have productive seasons which is what lsu had.

PAY ATTENTION
Bama had an epic alltime great defense.
Our offense struggled against them so you say our offense was average because of 1 fricking game.

West Va had a good offense( not elite, marshall held them to 291 yards)
Our defensive couldnt stop their good offense. Our defense must've been average because of 1 fricking game.

God i hate our ignorant fan base.
One of the most productive offenses in lsu history is just average because of 1 damn game. Just forget the 12 regular season games where we were 2nd in the sec in offensive tds per game and 2nd in 1st downs per game.

That elite offense was held to 291 yards by Marshall.
That elite offense was held to less yards than lsu held them to by 7 different teams in 2011.

Our 2011 defense was clearly average.

that elite west va offense was ranked behind lsu in offensive points per game in 2011. thanks for destroying your own argument.

I would love for lsu to win the national title by having 300 yards of offense every game and having the games won by a defensive or special teams td just to see the posters on here lose their mind. It would be glorious.

Lsu was not avg when they played good defenses. They were terrible.

I know how to agree to disagree..

Not you. Your gripes with the offense are legit.you dont just blindly repeat bs myths about the offense. Youre a level headed poster that give smiles credit when it's due and give criticism when its due.

They were terrible in 1 game against the best bama defense of all time. The same defense that gave 170 yards of offense in sec play. And again, 1 game doesnt outweigh an entire season of being one of the most productive offenses in lsu history.

You said West va was elite and lsi wss average. Lsu scored more offensive points per game than west va and west va was playing in the damn big east. So please let me in how a team playing in the big east that didnt score as much on offense as lsu is elite yet lsu is just average? Im not even calling 2011 lsu offense elite. Im just saying they were above average.

2 games...same team.

They averaged 4.5 points in two games. 9-6 was not a good offensive outing either.
