really, no one knows.. but we should be better than this years offense, which crippled us at times..

Defensively?

the LSU defense will be much better than the Auburn defense you faced. I think Auburn had the 9th best defense in the SEC this year, while LSU was 2nd i believe. LSU's defense will be as good as this year, and maybe better given an offense that can keep the ball longer than 3 plays at a time..

Ofensively - qb = ? ( could be great or just meh)
Rb- stacked with 2-3 as good as auburns dyer
Ol- large and experienced.

Te and wr- y'all won't have anyone that can shut these guys down. Best bet is that qb will help u with that.

Our defense, especially db's will be the best u will see by far. We will have much more speed on dine than au. Lbs will be a wash.

Special teams for us are always a strength.

Anyway, my first pre-pre-preseason question for y'all (is that good use of y'all?) is how do you see the 2011 LSU team comparing to the 2010 Auburn team we just played? Offensively? Defensively?

We will be nowhere as good offensively as Auburn was this year. We will have a solid running and passing game though.

Defensively we will be light years ahead of what you saw from Auburn this year.

We may not have the dominant DT like Auburn had in fairly..but we have extreme depth and talent at every position minus the LineBackers. I'm actually curious to see how LSU prepares for the read option that has bothered us all year, when they have 8 months to prepare

Welcome to the board. Pulled as hard as I could for the Ducks vs Auburn but obviously to no avail. I'm not an SEC groupie and really wanted Oregon to trounce Cam and company.

Looking forward to the game in eight months.

We have more talent than Auburn, on both sides of the ball. Obviously, though, we don't have the kind of playmaker at the QB position as Cam and it remains to be seen what kind of offense we will have with the new OC (presumably better, as we can't get much worse on O). At Jordan-Hare, it was a tie game with 7 minutes to go before they broke a big run to take the lead.

Our defense is hands down better than Auburn's, though.

Offensively, we have 2 maybe 3 dyers, a better o-line, and better athletes at receiver positions, not necessarily better receivers. QB and approach, is anybody's guess at this point, although the consensus seems to be we will be running a pro-style offense considering our offensive roster

Defensively, aside from Fairley, Oregon has seldom faced as explosively punishing defensive play as LSU will be panting to bring to the ducks.

My personaly theory is that the multiple look/goofy style offensive sets that work in the PAC-10, dont really work against the prime SEC defensive squads/coaches.

this will be put to the test, and

My biggest concern is what Chip Kelly will come up with over the summer. LSU will be the best D that Oregon faces all year but I suspect Kelly will have them ready, with some wrinkles we've never seen

Welcome sacknquack!

As you can see the traditional Rant welcome to new posters is to give them a hard time. As forms must be followed... Geaux Duck Off and Fie! Just insult us back and go on posting.

Our defense is much better than Auburn, especially in the secondary. It's rather nasty when we are blitzing, but for some reason when we get a decent lead we stop blitzing and sit back and let teams march down the field. It keeps games close so that he can crush our opponents hopes and dreams in the final seconds for maximum psychological damage.

Our offense is a Ferrari that's missing a spark plug. We have so much talent at the other skilled positions that when we get decent play from our quarterback we can march down the field on anyone. Our OL should be close to what you saw at Auburn.

It should be a fun one in Jerry world, both before and after as well as during the game. After hanging with some LSU fans, LSU will most likely become your second favorite team. It's important to note that when you take the two teams colors (purple, green, and gold/yellow) you get the colors of Mardi Gras. Definitely sounds like a party to me!

...At least you know that after we kill ducks, we know how to cook 'em up right.
