Anyone besides me driving to Green Bay from Louisiana or a southern state in general? I am doing a big trip with the family and will check out Chicago and St Louis on the way back home. Ten day trip for me.

I love LSU road trips, and this is the ultimate trip. I don't want it any other way.

Unless you're going to a Cardinals game, not a whole lot to see in St. Louis.

My coworkers family is driving up from Baton Rouge.

I booked everything, flight hotel and rental, 3 weeks ago and it was way cheaper flying, being there 3 day, then driving all the way up there and taking 5 days total.

I'm driving, my son's birthday present is that game. Fortunately I'll have two other drivers with me. We leave Friday AM and will drive to Milwaukee that night.

I've driven to Chicago by myself numerous times without stopping. Milwaukee not much further.

That's a 16 hour drive. Not a chance in hell I would drive that. Drove to Chicago once when I was fresh out of HS. After that, I told myself never again. Flights for anything longer than 8-9 hours.

At some point time is more important than money.

I could probably handle the drive there but that drive back is going to be full of suck.

We looked at driving, but it was too many missed classes and days of work for my sons. Got a good deal cashing in credit cards miles to MSP, with a Sunday night stay over coming back to hit Surly and other maven stops.

Yeah just knowing I would have to drive back 16 hours would be sitting in the back of my mind the whole damn trip.

I'll be driving up on Thursday with a couple of my buddies. We're taking in the Cubs game on Friday and driving up to GB Saturday morning. Driving back home on Sunday. Monday morning I'll be dragging arse, but I'm sure it's going to be worth it.

Damn, this going to be your 1st road trip without your parents? This doesn't seem thought out very well.

Done that drive to Madison from Baton Rouge straight thru solo.
Was able to pull WWL station into Wisconsin. Amazing.

If I had the family we would hit Lamberts for some throwed rolls in Sikeston,Mo. St Louis arch too sometime.

Illinois sucks to drive thru. So flat and boring.
