As high as we are on the other basketball players we recruited at WR, Drake seems primed for a solid freshmen yeae . The vets (more notably Travin) are always with him and seem to have built a good bond. I could see him as the 4th or 5th option which isn't bad considering what's ahead of him.

Hoping we can see some YAC from our receivers this year. This unit is frickin loaded.

I don't think you'll find a more talented WR group than LSU's

Dural
Dupre
Chark
Tyron Johnson
Jazz Fergusen
Dee Anderson
Drake Davis
Derrick Dillon
Stephen Sullivan

Only two guys on that list are under 6'2" as well. Couldn't draw up a better group of WRs

Earlier in the off-season I would have thought Drake may the most raw potential but wouldn't be utilized until he developed. Now I think he'll but the first frosh WR to get touches.

Talented yes, but only two of these guys has proven themselves against SEC competition.

Soeaking solely from top to bottom best depth we've ever had. I would bet more from this class play a down in pros than ever before. So much talent. And not the normal 5'11 or 6'0 talent. We talking 6'2 and higher with hops and speed

He played with my oldest at Dunham so I've watched most of his games since he was in 7th grade. He WILL have stone hands occasionally but when he catches it in the open field, he'll probably house it half of the time. Fun to watch.

The young WRs will get their chance next season. This year it'll be all about Dural, Dupre, Chark & Johnson.

The fact that a guy like Diarse transferred out is insane. He would be a top two receiver almost anywhere else, probably will be at TCU.

Trying to figure out what playing basketball has to do with being an effective WR or "contributing" this year. hoq about WR who happen to play basketball? Still doesn't compute.

Vertical, lateral quickness, usually big hands.

As has been said in the other threads, playing WR at LSU depends on your blocking and catching skills.

If you can't block AND catch, you're in the doghouse until you prove you can.

Haven't seen Davis as a blocker, but as a catcher, he has work to do.

I would look for Dee Anderson to get PT over him at least at first. Maybe a few end arounds for Davis

Everyone is excited about Drake Davis. His size + athleticism combo in incredibly rare and gives him an incredibly high season. Can't wait to see the type of player he will be in the future.

Also really high on Dee Anderson. He was very impressive during spring. Great size and length and can make plays over DBs / in traffic and is a very smooth route runner with great hands. Very natural WR. Think it's only a matter of time before he starts seeing quality snaps for us.

So much young talent at WR. Not hard to see why Diarse, Spears, and Quinn transferred. We've got some young WRs with big time ability.

How good was Odell's blocking as a freshman? I'm genuinely asking. I'm assuming good because of your statement.

Freshmen rarely have as big of production here so 15-20 receptions for 200 yds. 5 carries 100 yds 2 tds
