most of Jennings' shortcomings don't just get better due to reps.....but you can keep on waiting on the that train to come.

Not sure how people can hold Harris one road start as a true freshman against him. He never once got a chance to redeem himself. Ohio st's Rs freshman qb looked like shite at home against a mediocre vt team and threw 3 ints and they lost... But he was able to work through it and went on to a heisman like season up until his injury..

Kyle Allen looked like shite in his first start at home against an inferior ulm team and they struggled to win.. But he was also allowed to redeem himself..

It happens in young guys first start but it doesn't mean you just give up on the elite talent.

Jennings was horrendous not only versus sec opponents but also against nm st?

Let me put it this way for all to understand..

Last season..

The entire season..

Jennings accounted for 11 total TDs and 7 ints. This includes an extra bowl game!

Harris accounted for 9 total TDs and 2 ints and one of his two ints was a hailmary he had to attempt to win the game against miss st.. So really 1 int.

Harris once had the team score TDs on what 9 straight possessions out of 10 and again the only one was the hailmary attempt.. Harris makes plays happen both with his arm
And legs and because he's a trye threat either way the entire team benefits tremendously. If Harris has learned the playbook and check offs then he Absolutely should be our guy going forward. He's simply far more talented. It's not about hating on jennings.

He didn't improve at all last year. It can be argued that he got worse.

Recognizing that he made little or no improvement isn't bashing him, it's living in the real world as opposed to la-la land.

did you miss Rohan's v auburn in the cigar game?
Jamie howard v auburn in the intercept game?
Lee v Georgia ?

Don't get me wrong, Harris v auburn was piss poor, but I've seem some that stunk pretty bad.

I agree with you.

The only way we can be sure that AJ has the opportunity he deserves is to let him take every snap at center until he graduates.

Only then will we be in a position to reach a valid conclusion.

Anyone with a brain can see that Jennings wasn't the guy last year, and yet ole Les kept trotting him out there.

No, we have to be sure.

Let AJ take every snap at center until he graduates.

THEN let the pundits decide whether Harris should have been the man.

I know how to think like Coach Miles.

After that game at Auburn it was my opinion that Jennings should have started that game and after he wiuld have struggled then put Harris in. Harris came in the State game after Jennings was having about the samr results as Harris was having at Auburn. Mentally i think was better for Harris to come in in relief with less pressure.
So the coaches didnt get it there

And? I doubt he'll be as bad as last year. Trouble is, he could improve A LOT, and still be bad.

Yall exoect Harriss to improve so why shouldnt AJ?
Actually, I find it highly concerning that as little talent as AJ obviously has, BH can't pull ahead. He's only 1 year behind AJ and AJ is f'n godawful. BH, if he was anywhere near as good as advertised, should have made it obvious at this point.

It seems that many of you are expecting and actually pulling for poor performances from Antthony Jennings.
This is just a stupid stupid argument.

Why so much hate toward him?
Don't confuse opinions regarding an individual's playing ability with opinions on the individual. It makes you look like someone whose idea of competition is seeing who can find the most 4 leaf clovers.

"His performance against Auburn was the worst I have ever seen from an LSU QB"

Obviously you haven't seen any games with jordan jefferson at the helm.

Yep, I remember at the time people thought Jennings just didn't even care anymore and thought he knew he lost the job permanently anyways...but nope

Jennings had a -21.5 QB Rating that game. Yes, that's a negative, that's pretty fricking tough to do in college.

Don't you blind Les Miles supporters get it? My problem was with the way our stubborn coaching staff tried to use Jennings. HE IS NOT A POCKET PASSER yet Miles continued to put him under center with 2 TE's. Until A&M, he never really gave him a chance to succeed. Same with Harris, he's not a drop back passer and quite frankly, due to pure athletic ability, is more dangerous than Jennings in spread formation or at least a shotgun formation.

From reports from the coaching staff, Jennings seems to be a hard worker and unlike some people, I actually like the kid, but that doesn't mean he is the better QB. Josh Booty was apparently a practice all-american, but Rohan Davey was the better in-game QB.

despite how our offense looks on game day, it is a pro style passing offense and thus is hard to come right in and master. It was asking a lot of BH to do that and the people that slight him for it are largely ignorant.

Where I do blame the coaching staff is for not having some type of BH package in the games down the stretch. He doesn't have to know the full offense, but giving him a script at certain points in the game should have happened.

He should. Many worry that he won't because he didn't improve any from his freshman year to his sophomore year, and other QBs who have played here did not improve from year to year.

quote:

Yall exoect Harriss to improve

More of a hope than an expectation, but yes, everyone wants Harris (and every player on our team) to improve.

quote:

expecting and actually pulling for poor performances from Antthony Jennings

Expecting, yes. Pulling for, no. Everyone is pulling for him to do well. His lack of improvement to this point suggests he might not.

quote:

I guess some of you are wanting Jennings to stay the same for two years

No one wants Jennings to stay the same for another two years the way he has for the last two years. Everyone keeps hoping, in spite of the evidence to this point, that he has some potential he hasn't shown yet and that he'll actually make progress toward meeting it.

quote:

Why so much hate toward him?

Nobody hates him. Many think he should not be the starting QB. However, only one person's opinion on that matters, and that person apparently disagrees.

Ark St, Boston College, Cincinnati, Colorado, E Carolina, Illinois, Iowa, Kentucky, Miss St, Nebraska, N Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, SMU, S Florida, Syracuse, Vir Tech, West Virginia and of course LSU.

These were the schools that offered Jennings. You get what you pay for.

I would've absolutely expected BH to struggle had he come in and frankly, if AJ was anything short of a complete shite show, he shouldn't have come in.

But, this isn't a case of the superstart freshman taking a back seat to a guy who is ho hum but gets the job done. He was taking a back seat to the worst QB in major college football that STILL held on to his job.
