you have a problem with guys checking her out. The same thing goes with Les. He is wanted by other programs. So what. Either date an ugly duckling and nobody cares or have a winner by your side that others wish they had...

If LSU had chosen Chizik or Dooley or ??? loser coach, we too would be hanging with the Arkansas, Aubie and TN bunch...

I love Miles, but I don't agree with this statement. Winning in CFB is about recruiting and player development. These things are directly related to money, facilities and recruiting budget. LSU has premier facilities, the money to recruit nationally, and a talent pipeline that has had LSU in the championship hunt for most of the past 10 years.

I don't buy into the myth that certain coaches have a mysterious recipe for success.

Evidence shows otherwise. Chizik, Kiffin, Mack Brown, Richt, and Hoke all have consistently better recruiting classes than LSU and look at what those clowns did. LSU is not the only school with talent and player development.

Mack won a title, Richt is on the cusp of one, hoke took over a dumpster fire. The other two suck, but I still don't think you know what you're talking about.

Really? Auburn consistently has better recruiting classes than LSU? Wow I have never heard this before. Just to test your theory I would be curious to see what Les would do at TCU. Let Patterson and Les switch places and see what happens. It would be interesting to see it for about 4 years. Also Les did OK at Okie State but Gundy has done better than him overall. Does this mean Gundy is a better coach because its the same program?

I checked out scout to see if Auburn was recruiting better than LSU as you said. I saw 1 year in the last 5 where Auburn clearly had a better class. The other years LSU and Auburn were very close (both teams were basically even) or LSU had a better class. I will bet anybody that LSU has had a more talented over all roster than most any team in the country regardless of recruiting rankings.

And yet we went 45 years without a championship.

There is a reason why only a handful of coaches have won more than 1 championship in the history of college football. Every now and then a Gene Chizik stumbles into a championship, but only a few can maintain a program at a championship level over time.

So all it would have taken in the 90s was more money? Ignorant.
