Senior leadership usually gets the number ... I think he does.

My vote is for Collins or Neighbors.

Magee or Neighbors.

I dont think Collins can because of being an OL and the # rule.

Plus, the 18 jersey typically goes to someone that has overcome adversity and hardships and has beaten the odds stacked against him.

Collins is def the leader of this offense, but hes also been the guy since he got on campus. Hes def a leader, but I dont think hes the type of guy that usually gets #18.

Mauck to Hester to Richard Dickson to Richard Murphy to Brandon Taylor to Bennie Logan to Lamin Barrow. Those are the guys that have been awarded the #18 jersey. The 1 thing they all had in common is that they all were faced with adversity and beat it.

It's more than just being a leader.

That's my reasoning. You want to give #18 to a player you know who'll get the majority of the snaps barring injury. If Beckwith is good enough to pass Welter he won't get 18 and it's going to Neighbors/Magee or maybe a wildcard who'll see significant PT.

Richard Murphy was awarded #18 and he barely played the year he had it...

Good point. I just really don't wanna see Welter with it unless he has a 2012 Minter or better year.

I figured Collins couldn't wear the number, but he does deserve it.

I agree

Plus, it would be tough to give Welter #18 due to the fact that he's 1 of the most scrutinized and criticized players on the team. And it typically goes to a fan favorite type of player

Magee and Neighbors are the front runners for me. And I think Quentin Thomas could get it as well.
