Why would the backup, sophmore qb transfer?

Rettig is not even close to being ready to contribute. He's all arm and no accuracy right now.

I think the chances of Rivers starting for LSU in 2014 are very very slim.

The chances of Miles starting a red-shirt FR in the SEC is >2%.

Rantard Logic:

Well Cam Cameron is going to be our OC and he coached Philip Rivers in San Diego, so he will probably start.

Brings back familiar memories of JLee as a Fresh:

OC will be in 2nd year under Miles and RS Freshman QB

I don't understand why some of you are so quick to dismiss Rivers. None of you have seen enough of Rivers to be able to tell if he can be a SEC caliber QB or not

Who exactly dismissed Rivers? No one said he sucked. Simply stated that I don't think he will start by the time 2014 rolls around. It is an opinion and I don't have any inside info just stating an opinion.

Its Les Miles.

He shut down the passing game for 5 years because if 2008. Until he lets someone else take the reins, every year is the same situation as '08

I think if Les has his way, then Rivers will be taking a knee against Ole Miss w/5 minutes remaining...

No , if he sees meaningful playing time it's curtains for the Tigs. He brings nothing to the table and will be supplanted by one or both freshmen come 2014.

Going to have to agree here. Never understood the offer and I highly doubt he's ready to take the starting QB spot. Whether he will develop into something good remains to be seen. For LSU's sake, they better hope he doesn't take a snap outside garbage duty. And before anyone starts pointing to QBs who were successful in the SEC as Sophomore - they were exceptions to the rule, not the norm.

Are you saying there's a significant chance, or did you get the inequality sign backwards?

Yep.

It will be Rettig or Jennings and my money is on Jennings, though I just want whoever is better.
