Does Miles-gate change your opinion of the Chavis departure?

Seems clear in retrospect that Alleva at least had the possibility of firing Les in his mind. Thus, he insisted on the "as long as Miles is here" language in a contract with Chavis.

So, does this change your view of Chavis leaving? Or do you still think it was wrong of him to talk to/accept the A&M job before the bowl game?

good idea to get out but he could have handled it better. that seems to be a big issue with a lot of people at LSU now...so i won't hold it against him.

I felt like it was this way along, Alleva hamstringed the contract. Chavis is still a fat bitch for the way he acted after the bowl game and for even coaching the ball game. the fat frick has no honor.

While I don't like les that much, I always though it was a stupid idea to try and force him to fail by cutting the strings. If he is going to fail let him do it without hamstringing him. King and Alleva need to be gone this spring and then let Miles have the season to right the ship.

Didn't blame him for leaving last year and still don't. It was telling to me that Ed O and Steele only got two year contracts and not the traditional three years. Maybe Chavis was made the same offer and he said no thanks. Certainly think Chavis heard chatter behind the scenes last year.

It will be interesting to see what the viable assistants (O, Raymond) do after the bowl.

I'd say I completely understand where he was coming from in moving on, but I also agree that he showed very little class in how he handled it. Finalizing his deal on the day of the game, not visiting with his players, showing up in College Station the next day, he sucks.

Yes.

It was the first inclination that the admins were growing tired of Miles.

I did think it was kind of strange how many of the D-coordinator candidates turned it down after interviewing. Especially with LSU's rep of having the "highest paid coaching staff" and co-ordinators like Chavis and Pelini doing well here and all. It was like there was something they were leery of - less than great terms in the contracts or something.

And I agree. If Miles does end up out the door I'd feel more comfortable with new blood making the next hire. I dunno about King because I don't know how he does in other aspects of running the school but for sure Alleva is not someone I look forward to picking the next guy.

Leaving isn't the issue.

It's the disingenuous lawsuit that's the issue and the way he just sleep walked through the ND game

Sumlin's pool guy got canned days before the bowl game. I still think when Miles threw Chavis to the wolves vs Bama in '12 , Chavis threw in the towel.
Run 3 times. Punt. Let Chief get us outta here.

Yes. He was protecting himself and knew a lot more than we do about the situation

King is terrible at running the school. He has caused us to be embarrassed with his chicken little routine. If he was good he would make some tough calls and try to work within the budget

Not really.

Chavis still lied to Miles and showed zero loyalty. Plus, he still took the job while under contract with LSU. Finally, he still decided to sue LSU.

so he stuck around for 2 more seasons?

Les and Chavis seemed buddy buddy after the game, the more that has come out with this shite storm the more pissed I become. They essentially were handcuffing the coach here. That's bush league. Either give him the backing to make hires and keep coaches, or get him the frick out and get someone else you are willing to back.

If this program keeps sliding, it wont be because of Les.

He might have been but the way he did it makes him a piece of shite. He could have been a man, told les I'm leaving and not coached the bowl. Instead the fat frick sunk us vs ND and then wanted to sue.

Les looked like a little bitch hugging him after the way he fricked him last year.

I concur that King and Alleva need to go. Having them here and knowing that Les would be gone if not for the current climate of the state will only make Les look like a lame duck and will make recruiting even more difficult. I want Les gone, but I also want them gone too.
