I never even understood the hatred for USC in the first place. I actually kind of liked them. They had a ton of swag under Carroll.

i get people get emotional during games and say/post stupid stuff.
but for someone to think 2 guys that play together in the NFL should not be friends because the colleges they went to (and Mays wasnot even on the 2003 USC team) split a national title 10 fricking years ago is mind numbingly stupid. I'm reminded of that clip from some movie (Billy Madison?) where the game show host tells him everyone is now dumber from having heard his response.
It is a sad indictment of LSU that people not only hate USC because of a split title, but can't get over it 10 years later. I have heard once where fans of Miami and Washington, Nebraska and Michigan hate each other and former players should not be friends because they split a title in the past.

While I agree with everything you said about the thread, I'm going to disagree about the split title.
LSU fans were pissed about the split title because of the arrogant way Pete Carroll basically just crowned himself a national champion after that game. Completely classless act that ended up tarnishing this programs first championship in over 40 years.
I don't have good memories of other split titles, but unless one of the coaches in those situations hijacked a title by crowning himself (and getting the media to run with it), I think the comparisons are apples and oranges.

You people do realize that life goes on for these guys after LSU football, right? They go to new teams and compete for different goals.
I watched a program about the 1992 Dream Team last night. Chuck Daly was the coach. Michael Jordan was the main star. They had a legitimate reason to dislike each other, as they were each other's nemesis in the NBA. Instead, they became very close, bonded the team together, and whipped everyone's arse in the Olympics.
Life exists after LSU football, believe it or not...get over it.
