If i gave you a rifle that for me, was dead on and i'd never missed with it and you took it and missed everytime you shot......... is it the gun or is it you?

pretty sure you are smart enough to get the point.

I want him to stay because I've seen what he can with an offense if he has a QB who is moderately competent. We have no such QB.

I really believe JJ is truly awful and makes Crowton look worse but some of the calls he makes leaves everyone scratching their heads.

I was gonna say about the same thing. it doesnt matter who the OC is next yr, if JJ is starting we'll see sorry arse play out of the offense. Or Lee either one.

hmmmmmmmmmmmm let me think about this.

I think I'll go with the guy that has the years of hs, college and professional experience under his belt.

At this point, the answer doesn't really matter.
Crowton's reputation has sufffered so much (deservedly, in my opinion, but it matters not) that good QB recruits have to think twice before coming here, despite a great chance to start.

You mean the guy that destroyed BYU's program and made Dennis Dixon look like Corky from Life Goes On?

No, its painfully obvious he cannot develop the QB position and get the ball to his playmakers.

If Les keeps him then I am perfectly OK with this. I think everybody should leave Les alone about Crowton. Les will win a West Title with Crowton or go down with Crowton.

BT, execution is the responsibility of the coaches as well. (see Saban) At this level they recruit and bring the players up, tecah them their set skills etc. But if you are saying it is all JJ Lee's fault, since JJ cant learn the plays, and Lee, hell he doesnt play long enought to be able to tell, then a "good coach" woud simplify the system, but in checks, more runs, explain it better, etc. Sometimes you have to adjust your system to your personal, (see Parkview Baptist) Not to suggest that Crowton is anything the offensive coach G is, as he was a top ten offensive coach his whole college career, not a bottom ten. But when local high school coaches seem to get it better than your million dollar man, he have problems. Maybe he could ask Coach G for help/ (LOL)

Since we cant fire JJ, or Lee, who is a gutsy kid like him or not, what do you suggest we do?
or are you happy with our bottom twenty offense?

If we get Mettenberg, and we still suck, (and we will)will you concede?

I appreciate your point, and it is hard to tell whether it is the system or execution as both are so bad, but I just think we need a change here. But time will tell

Going from your example, let's just say Jordan Jefferson is generally a pretty good shot but needs much more professional instruction. Gary Crowton handed him the rifle without sighting it in for JJ and let him continue to shoot to high/low/left/right without providing him the proper instruction. Even if you have a perfect gun, if you don't learn where the shooter's weaknesses are and correct them, the best gun in the world won't work.

Gary Crowton's job is not only to come up with a great scheme, it is to adapt that scheme to his players, and most importantly to develop and teach his players so that they improve and become better. I refuse to believe that with the athletes on this offense, that they are the main reason this offense ranked #103.

If one player isn't improving, it's the player's fault. If three players aren't improving, it's the position coach, if the whole offense isn't improving, it's the OC.

If it were just JJ, the guy may have a point. But it's both QB's who have problems leading me to believe it's the QB coach and coordinator, both of whom are Crowton.
