I've said all along that I think CLM has a great season this year, then accept the Michigan job when RR is canned.

My personal choice to replace CLM would be Pelini. I'm not sure we could get him, but I think we at least have to make him say "no".

Do you want LSU to subcontract the assignment out to Mark Emmert????

You're right, he did ... but that doesn't make up for the two previous horrible hires.

Yep ... and your posts continue to prove your point. How many ADs get the chance to make 3 football hires, particularly when the 1st two were horrible?

Btw jackass, his last hire before he came here was David Cutcliff. A very respected coach throughout college football.

Im sure Allevas phone will be ringing off the hook from coaches salivating at the chance to get fired after winning close to 60 games in 6 years.

You're right ... he finally managed to make a good hire on his 3rd try. Glad the LSU fan base is patient and is willing to give a guy 3 shots when hiring a coach. Oh, wait ...

To shift the paradigm, do you think Alleva would have better candidates to replace Coach K if he went to the Lakers a few years ago?

And Lombardi has made no secret of his admiration for and lonstanding friendship with Corch Orgeron, who might be looking for an escape from NCAA prison in LA .. .

LSU isn't hiring a USC position coach to be our head coach, no matter who is doing the hiring. Who do you think we are Ole Miss?

Forget it. You obviously lack the cognitive skills to comprehend where football stands on the Duke totem pole. Flame on flamer.

Top coaches will always flock to a program like LSU. Coaches have egos and always feel they can do better. And then you throw out $4 mil and who wouldn't? Urban Meyer went to UF after Zook, who had successful seasons at UF, very similar to Miles.

I for one hopes Miles shuts up the critics (including myself) and wins the SEC this year.

Hopefully that troll has pissed off enough people that matter to be gone by that time.

Your lack of knowledge about the business of CFB based on this post is rather telling. If, and I say IF, Miles is gone after this year there will be plenty of justification to hire a new coach based on the last 3 years, not the first 5.

My post wasn't Pro Miles. I just think people drastically overestimate the attractiveness of the position based on the success that Miles has had.
The lofty expectations will eliminate a lot of options. We'll be limited to guys with nothing to lose or a select group who's hiring will be based on luck and timing.
Bertman has told many people the lack of interest in the LSU job in 2005 surprised him. Miles was the best option after Petrino bombed his interview.

LSU would bring in an all star committee with Skip at the head to get our guy.

Think about this:

This past offseason, major programs Notre Dame, USC and Tennessee all replaced their head coaches.

They got Brian Kelly, Lane Kiffin, and Derek Dooley.

Sometimes LSU fans act like all we have to do is get rid of Miles and we'll get a Sean Payton knocking on our door.

I don't know what you're talking about. I think the second LSU cans Miles, Bill Parcels, Bill Cower, Sean Payton and even Saban, Stoops and Meyer will be banging down the doors at the football complex to get in. LSU is the most sought after job in all of football, the Rant told me so!!

Pretty sad to think you had guys like Fisher, Muschamp, Pelini, Smart, etc. come through this program and nothing was done with those guys.

Put down that pipe dude, all of those coaches were hired away from us after they developed into stealable type coaches. That implies development!
