I have heard for years Miles is not high on Ed Orgeron and it has come up in threads on the Rant. But does anyone know if there is a specific reason Miles is not high on BeBe or if that is even truly the case?

To me it truly seems like a perfect fit with Wilson "although he might feel threatened by BeBe" and Orgeron recruiting Louisiana, Texas and Mississippi together our recruiting going forward could be something that is talked about for years to come. I truly believe we would vie for top recruiting class titles for years to come with those two on staff, not to mention BeBe is one hell of a motivator and absolutely loves the state of Louisiana to me it would be one of the best coaching hires if we can get him on board in some coaching capacity.

Anyone have real knowledge of what the issues are?

I think the fact that we already have a defensive line coach is kinda the issue

He should be thanking Coach O for not getting Janzen. He would have been a cancer no matter where he went. LSU lucked out big time

I get that, but on this board and I have heard through my circles also that Miles in not high on BeBe. I don't know if that is true and truth be told I don't want it to be true because I truly would love to see BeBe at LSU.

But does anyone know of the reason if there is truth to the rumor is what I am asking.

The kid is going to jail for murder, you really think Les still holds a grudge against that. I would think he would hold more against his dad regarding that recruiting situation than BeBe. I realize BeBe was at Tennessee that year that Jenzen committed but I always heard it was the side deal with his Dad coaching close to Tenn that sealed the deal.

My opinion on the matter.

1) Bebe is a motivator but not necessarily an X's and O's guy. We have those already.

2) Miles has been spurned by Bebe once already, probably soured on him at that time.

3) Bebe has been associated with dirty recruiting (Miles likes to distance himself from this, although the NCAA has bee de-clawed somewhat).

4) Miles has surrounded himself with (seems to like) "Quiet guys" on the sidelines, Bebe is certainly not this. (although we could probably use some fire).

5) Bebe coached DL and recruits LA, we already have Brick Haley and Frank Wilson. Seems liek or DL has under performed lately, also seems like Bebe could help us retain some of the talent that has been going elsewhere, but we have been pulling some out of state talent too.

Who knows.

Thanks for the response, puts a lot more light on the subject that is for sure.

Miles is definitely not someone who likes to go out of his comfort zone so it seems like a long shot with your points. It is a shame though can you imagine BeBe and Wilson working Louisiana, East Texas and Mississippi, if they keep their ego's out of it son-of-a-bitch we literally would vie for recruiting titles year in, year out which would lead to more SEC and Natty titles.

Oh well a fella can dream!

This should be a no brainer hire--- let a non-productive coach go to make room
For BeBe--Lock him up--- Wilson & Oregeron-- would have the #1 or #2 recreiuting class almost every year. JMHO

He's still unemployed. Maybe there's others who aren't hot on him either.

If he could "lock up" Texas and LA like people are ranting about it's strange he's still sitting at home.

There is bad blood there.

I was told by an Ole Miss all-American football player that O's mouth is filthy and would tell recruits junk especially about Miles and LSU. Supposedly there was a confrontation and Miles defended LSU and this person had to step in. He also said that 3 months after they hired O, they regretted it. He said that before the season started, they were ready to get rid of him. He also said that they were told that the NCAA was going to look into his recruiting and they had suspicions that the NCAA was correct. He also said that Miles was first class and the recruits that he talked to thought that Les was first class in recruiting. O was no where near Les's class and he believed that O would never coach at LSU as long as Les is alive.
