Does anyone else hate that Saturday is single elimination for us?

I like the regional format better as well as the old SEC tourney format

God no. No one in their right mind wants 6 or even 7 possible games in 6 days.

I do hate it. But I agree that it has to be this way if they want more than 8 in the tournament. Otherwise it's potentially 7 games in 6 days for one or two teams. That's just asking for injuries with pitching heading into the NCAA tournament.

lol dumb thread. SEC Tourney has been this way since Texas A&M and Mizzou joined. We just clinched being the final four in the tournament and that's great enough for me and should be great enough for the committee to say we're a national seed

No, because if the Tigers lost the first game on Saturday, they would have to play another game on Saturday. If it was a true double elimination tourney, then two more games would be possible on Sunday, but one for sure.

I understand what your saying. It sucks that in 2 days we beat Florida and MSU. Tom one of them is rewarded by getting to play us again. Awe lose and we are out despite beating them in the Tourny. If we are trying to save pitching, then this should be single elimination all the way through with the same bye format.

It is total BS set up by morons. The objective behind it is to have your teams finish up on Sunday so that they are rested for the regionals. OK dumb shite we get that BUT, you penalize your winning teams and allow losers to send winners home. Easy fix is to make the first two days single elimination and reduce the number of teams who qualify.

I think it is an advantage for us now. If we win we clinch a top 8 seed...if we lose we still probably have a top 8 seed because we will be playing another top seed...the good thing is we can't lose 2 games now. We will finish of the season going 13-2 or 14-1 in our last 15.
