No. What will the value be of winning the SEC if the loser makes the playoffs and the winner does not?
The SEC will not let this happen.
NS will of course be on every sports show blowing the hosts and making his case that BAMA should be in the playoffs.
This. The two losses are early in the season, despite who they were to. If LSU turns it around and runs the table, beating Bama and UGA, I see no way that they don't go to the playoffs.

Bama could lose out and still get in before LSU

Does a 1 loss Bama still go to playoff over...
Yes. There can be four undefeated teams that had some of the toughest schedules in the league and Alabama will somehow get in over one of them.

If Auburn or LSU run the table they win the west. If both do LSU wins by head to head.

Remember the "eye test?"

depends on what the rest of the teams look like.

I'm sure they would. But if the roles were reversed they would say it was the loss that woke Bama up and they played so strong down the stretch that they should be in.

Title games are dumb. LSU was forced to play Ana extra game in 11 when Bama got a bye. LSU could have forfitted and still made the game vs Bama.

LSU wins out. Bamas only loss is to LSU. LSU beats an undefeated ranked #1 Georgia team to win SEC championship. LSU is in the playoff. They would look at the Moo State and Troy games as this team being young, new coaching, and the team just needed time to get it all together. Those losses coming early in the year would help us tremendously and we would have beaten 2 ranked #1 teams.

IF it were to happen, I think both one loss Bama and SEC Champion go.

Bama will require at least two losses to ever not make the playoff. Which just doesn't happen. Thus, Bama is a playoff lock every year. Winning the SEC we already know doesn't matter for Bama.

It is ridiculous that a committee picks a non-conference team over that conference's winner... I think we would all agree Ohio State was the better team than Penn State on paper BUT Penn State played their way into the four-team tournament and was not invited... A case can be made the committee selects the four teams based on their opinion and not wins, losses and conference championships. If they are allowed to do this the system is hardly different than the AP and UPI poll championships of yesteryear.
