Hypothetical scenario given the way the season is going so far.

Yeah, if run the table I fear Bama will Ohio State us. The Troy lost ended our playoff hopes.

I can hear them on CFB Live/Gameday now.

“Are we really going to let a team that lost to Troy in the playoff over Alabama?”

What if the one loss comes before the SEC Championship?

And before anyone gets all bitchy and says they won't lose to anyone before the SEC Championship, this whole thread is hypothetical. So don't be a bitch.

What if Bama doesn't make the SEC Champ game?

Highly unlikely but I am just curious as to how folks feel about that.

A situation where a 1 loss Bama is not in the SEC Champ game and the team in the West beats a undefeated Georgia.

Who goes?

A 1 loss Bama is in the playoffs if they don't win the west

Well who’s to say a 1 loss Bama isn’t the SEC Champ?

I do think a 1 loss Bama will get into the playoff over a 2 loss SEC champion that lost to Troy.

I hate it, but you Know it would happen.

I agree 100% but there is a doomsday situation still where you have a one loss Georgia, one loss Bama, and two loss SEC Champion.

You are going to tell the world your title game means shite?

It depends on whether LSU or Auburn beat the pants off of Bama. If it's a close game, Bama still likely gets backdoored in through media bias. If either team beat Bama by 10 or more and beat Georgia in the SEC Championship, there's no way Bama jumps them.

Yes.

Also has a better chance with 2 losses than many one loss teams. Sabin love runs deep in selection committee.

While I definitely agree with you, the committee should also ask themselves, do we want a team in that lost to the team that lost to Troy?

When the answer to that question is, if it's Alabama, the answer will always be yes.

Hypothetically LSU beats Bama, wins tiebreaker for SEC west. LSU plays Georgia in SEC title game. LSU wins, I think Bama goes into playoff over LSU. Georgia wins, I think both enter the playoff. Do I think that's right? No. Do I think there is a huge favoritism towards Saban and Bama in being selected for the postseason? Absolutely.

I think the best case scenario for LSU is winning out, winning SEC championship, and Auburn beating Bama in the Iron Bowl. Then LSU goes to playoff, bc they won't lock the SEC out of the playoff IMO

To be honest, if LSU wasn’t the one getting fricked in that situation, I would absolutely love it.

Its funny we celebrated the 2007 team yesterday but if you remember the sheer amount of things that needed to happen for LSU to make that game, this season feels eerily similar to another team (not necessarily LSU) walking into the playoff after an extremely unlikely scenario.
