Is that how you would feel? If so you’re likely a sociopath.

The ghost of Chuck Mullins hangs over the SEC. Decades from now we will remember his name.

No. It has no effect on the game at all.

That's how real.men athletes are. Of course they love their guy, but when the ball is snapped, they aren't thinking about injuries, they are doing their job, period.

I think this is completely plausible. It happened to a team I played on, our guy had a vicious compound fracture and we were all too upset to focus. Hell, I was crying because it was best friend and I was the starting center. If you aren’t focused in the SEC it can spin out of control quickly.

As someone who played in a game where our LB had to be taken away by ambulance with a neck injury(ended up breaking his neck/quadriplegic), it definitely messes you up. And we were freshmen at the time.

We ended up winning, but it was an ugly game bc you had no idea what the outcome was.

It seems like LSU turned things around pretty close to the time the info came out that he was going to be ok.

Real men or not, to see a teammate suffer what appeared at the time to be a life threatening/ending injury is going to affect them.

Sure they will play and regain their focus, but to say they are dismissive of the injury is ludicrous.

OP didn’t mean return “into” the game. He was discharged from the hospital & was back at the stadium wearing a neck brace.

Maybe the coaching staff needs to have the kicker kick the fuking ball out of the end zones more frequently.

In 2019 LSU kicked 90% plus into or out of the end zone. That needs to be done again.

It’s understandable, as seeing one of your friends getting carted off, possibly severely injured would shock me too. Is it believable we didn’t have a good start due to this? Or was the team just sloppy to start?

I think that it’s also likely Banks was expected to play a lot this game and him being out before the first snap disrupted the game plan…Bernard-Converse would not have practiced all week at safety if we had known that we were going to be down to just two corners for every defensive snap of the game.

That penalty was some straight up BS. Refs didn’t have to do that, especially not knowing if the kid was paralyzed.
I wonder if they ejected him from the game but the ref didn't mention it after hearing the boos for the first part. That decision still comes from Tuscaloosa, no?

Only when it first happens. In my experience , teams rally around a downed teammate. You dedicate the game to them and pay your arse off for them. You have a mission.

We were playing at Auburn. For whatever reason when we play on The Plains, the game gets jager drunk.
