If you had good recruiters, you'd probably win a NC.

Stop settling

Yes it's time LSU gets a proven successful college qb developer

Hiring an OC is a far greater gamble

Weather it is pussy or prestige, everything has a cost. No such thing as a free good or service.

If you don't pay for it, someone else will.

LSU is not the spot to "try out" coaches to see if they have learned from their mistakes.

well one coach is getting a "try out" right now (the "try out" is ongoing and still has two more tests) and it appears so far that he has "learned from his mistakes"

Why are you not willing to keep Ensminger as offensive coordinator? He and Aranda are the guys propping Orgeron up and making him look viable. Orgeron just listens to what they say and cheers them on. But you want to give Orgeron all the credit for winning 4 games while saying Ensminger, who's running the offense, isn't good enough for the LSU job? What kind of messed up thinking is that?

exactly, I don't see why everyone is so quick to want to get rid of Ensminger. He is doing a great job as OC. Whether it's coach O ,or someone else, they may want to consider keeping Ensminger and Aranda along with the rest of the staff. Although Orgeron has done a great job and is certainly worthy of heavy consideration for the job, he shouldn't get all the credit.

Hiring Saban or Harbaugh or Meyer for that money is t a gamble but those guys aren't coming. Hiring anyone else at that pay grade is a huge risk.

There is risk involved with hiring any coach. There is only one coach who is proving he can be successful as a head coach at LSU as he is actually coaching the LSU tigers right now. We don't know how Fisher or Hermans skills as a coach will translate over to LSU. We don't KNOW IF they are a good match to coach this LSU team or not. With Orgeron we do KNOW the answer to that question as he is demonstrating that every Saturday with something that is tangible: RESULTS

My heart pulls for O. i love the guy,
but my mind says get Jimbo or someone on his level of coaching.
I think Herman needs a few more proven years before he is ready for this caliber of a job. Don't just jump at the coach of the moment.

I don't think Fisher is on the same level as Saban or Meyer but he's every bit as good as Harbaugh.

You O Pom Pom boys are getting annoying and are being ignorant. Being a successful interim coach is wayyyyy different than sustaining or rebuilding a program. Both have been done by Jimbo, and none have been done by O. It takes literally 1 fricking bad Coordinator hire and coach O has this team sliding. He's no X&O guy on either side of the ball.

But there's a quantifiable reason that you do.

Auburn:
Stan White- 3 year bust to undefeated senior starter

Patrick Nix- He was just a solid SEC QB, but the win/loss record is pretty damn good.

Dameyun Craig- From project to taking AU to the wire vs Manning's SEC title UT team

LSU:
Josh Booty- Actually became a serviceable QB with a winning record while Davey was injured.

Rohan Davey- From project to re-writing LSU passing record book with Josh Reed

Matt Mauck- Went from option QB to a solid passer and SEC and national champion

Marcus Randall- The only QB he coached at LSU who didn't pan out.

Jemarcus Russell- For all his flaws, his stats improved dramatically every year.

Matt Flynn- Jimbo's last gift to us.

I won't even go into Jimbo's work at FSU, but the fact that he got Christian Ponder drafted that high- come on now. I couldn't care less that no one he's coached but Winston will have had any success as a pro. That doesn't matter. This man knows how to develop college QBs. Period. Please point out a guy with a better track record. I'm all ears.

Not only that but he probably wouldn't even come here for that. We'd have to pay him $6MM on a long term deal.

From what I'm hearing, it looks like it's pretty much a done deal for Jimbo at 6M.

What? They didn't call and consult you beforehand?

What were they thinking?
