The point is that the difference is negligible at best and the OP is a racist idiot for thinking that Bolden would magically be averaging 5 yards a pop running the option.

Right...three tenths of a second is negligible.

Dude Mett isn't exactly lighting it up.

He's got a better completion % than Bolden.

Would you put Randall in for a particular package?

No. He's never played a down of college football yet. Putting him in against the #1 team in the country for his first snap, not even a starting snap, just a series or even a down, isn't a very smart idea.

If you want to use someone like that that has played and is on our team, I'd use Shepard.

Do you honestly think that's its a good idea or even being remotely considered to bring in the third string QB that hasn't ever taken a snap against Bama?

If you think this is a good idea at all then you are a fool.

The only "facts" you were going off of was that one guys is white and the other is black, therefore black guy is a runner and whitie is not.

When talking about Mett's speed, think that fact is enough...

I wouldn't be opposed to this. If we are just going to run the ball inside the 5 anyway we might as well have another option.

Considering they are both guys whose tendencies are to stay in the pocket as long as possible, yes, negligible.

Do people not realize that we have been using Ware for a couple plays under center the past 2 weeks???

Why are you so hung up on having a running QB when we've got a huge stable of running backs, all who have different running styles?

Why is it so important to have a mobile QB?

Were we talking about tendencies or athleticism?

I thought we are talking about having a QB who can run, neither can nor want to.

Because picking up 3rd downs with your legs when nothing else is open is huge against bama where field position is everything.

So every third down, we should take Mettenberger out? Yeah, opposing defenses won't know what's coming next.

Emphasis on can. I posted facts that showed one can better than the other. You posted an opinion on whether he wants to or not.

Yeah let's pay Bolden, especially since he had so much success against BAMA the last 2 years

And yet you want to have:

A. A guy that isn't a runner and not a very good passer out there

or

B. You want a third string guy that's never played a down of college football in his life to come in for a down against Bama "where field position is everything."

You really haven't thought all this through.

1. We struggle in the red zone
2. A mobile QB gives more options in said situation
3. We struggle in the red zone

I didn't say that. However, we were very successful last year rolling out of the pocket on 3rd down with a run throw option.

So 40 times outweigh actual college state???

Is 3 tenths of a second really worth giving up an resemblance of a passing game?
