I venture to say significant portions of every single fan base in the country thinks ESPN hates them.

The real question is should we give a shite either way?

Some of the best advice out there. I don't watch anything other than the game now, and I try to find another game when it's half time so I don't have to hear them then.

What is a long time to you kid? This is the same shite that is said every season on this board.

And, for all the jack wagons who keep saying this shite, if we were a great team they'd be gobblin' our knobs like they did all of 2011. Start beating some legit teams, and we'll get some more hype. Yeah, we beat Wisconsin. When your a good team, you beat teams you are better than.

The LSU vs MSU game is on ESPN so they try to hype the game as much as possible. If they just told everybody that we were going to go out there and beat the crap out of them then nobody would watch. Instead they all say that it's a possible upset and to watch out for MSU so people will tune in. It's really not that difficult to understand.

That hate us when it profits them

They love us when it profits them.

They ignore us when there is no profit to be made loving us or hating us.

It's REALLY simple, just think "Free market system".

Hate is not the right word

But if anyone here doesn't think that ESPN is full of pro gumps with an agenda is sadly mistaken

No, but the media has darlings. We are not one of them. Unless we're simply too dominant to ignore (like 2011), we will not get round the clock fawning press coverage. We will never get the kind of unqualified love that Notre Dame, Michigan, USC, or Bama do.

Such is life.

ESPN SEC sure hates any team in the SEC excerpt BAMA when they give Paul Finebaum 3 hours in the afternoon! He is so far up Sabans arse he can't see any other team in the SEC except Aub.

ESPN simply goes for target audiences. They go for teams with superstars over quality teams. There's a reason A&M is talked about so much. There also isn't a ton of bandwagon fans outside of the state compared to other powerhouse schools. A direct result of not having that 'guy'.

If they want to honestly evaluate us and that evaluation is negative, fine. If they want to overlook us and hype other teams because they think that will bring more viewers, fine. What I would have a problem with is being intentionally dishonest or hypocritical.

For instance, this week three of their seven "analysts" are picking MSU to upset us. Nothing wrong with that, it's a reasonable opinion that a lot of people share. But if we do go out and win convincingly, the message afterward needs to appropriately reflect what expectations were going in and how impressive it is that we exceeded them so well. If the message is "well, it was just Miss. St., of course LSU was supposed to win easily", then they're just being assholes, and I would have a problem with that.

It's just like the other teams' fans on the SEC Rant that always pick LSU to go 7-6, then claim we underachieved if we go 10-3.

they are selling eyeballs, they couldn't care less who the team is. If it's Duke football that's going to make them money, they're going for it.

right - they hate us so much that they broadcast most of our games on their network.

Who cares about the talking heads? In all my years of loving college football, I've never gotten my boxers in a bunch over what some supposed expert said about us. It doesn't mean a thing.

Just enjoy watching the games and hope we win.

It must have taken you hours to come up with such an original thought. First I heard of it.
