Do we all agree that it is receiving "corps" not receiving "core."

I see this all of the time.

Our receiving "core" is going to be great this year.

Our linebacker "core" should be much improved.

It is "corps" like the Marine Corps.

Right?

Or, am I wrong about this and there was some change in the English language that I missed.

Seriously. Correct me if I am wrong.

Maybe we can fix this before football season starts.

Maybe I'm bias, but I believe our WR core will be dominate.

Whether we agree or not is irrelevant. "Corps" is correct. "Core" is moronic.

You could say the core of the receiving corps is going to be great this year.

Yes, like the starting 3 receivers are the "core" of the "corps." I do not think that that is what people mean, though.

It's a core group of receivers that are talented or a talented receiving corps.

We may not have core receivers like OBJ and Landry returning, but our receiving corps will be fine. The core of our corps will be different.

this one gets me worse than core/corps.

The real question is....who will be the core of the WR corps?

Unfortunately we lost our core of our receiving corps to the draft.

Hopefully the corps will be able to find a new receiving core in dural or one of the freshmen.

Damn, Silky- you beat me to it; soon as I saw the thread title I was scrolling to say this- drives me up the wall every time I read it, which unfortunately is about 3-4 times a day during foo-baw season.

It's "corps", not "core"

While we're at it...

You run the "gamut", not the "gambit"
There is a difference between "they're", "their" and "there". There are people who think that their grammar is accurate, but they're mistaken.

"I'm bias" is also posted regularly on the board instead of 'biased'.
