Those were not Johnny Jones' guards last year; he didn't recruit them, and despite being talented they formed a horrid duo in the back-court.
Jerrell Martin played horrible most of the year, but in our last couple of games he showed the talent of an NBA point-forward/ undoubtedly NBA wing. Given it was fashes..... but it is there.
couple that with a year of growth for Mickey and we are almost better-off right there
Yal may love Stringer with his 3's but he couldn't finish in the open court and he couldn't break down the defense- we are better with him gone.
I wont judge Johnny if he doesn't make the tourney next year; cause there is now way we can't make the tourney next year.
the only thing that could hurt us would be injuries in the back-court

Simmons will play the '15-'16 season at the very least.

:
I will be as focused as anyone when next season starts, but as the best indicator of future performance is past perfomance I think it's legit to speculate as to whether the staff can overcome the disappointing aspects and learn and improve.
Mussleman is a step in the right direction in that regard IMHO. It will be interesting to see how much of a difference it makes.

It's just time to move on and focus on the current team. It gets old when every LSU basketball-related thread turns into a 'last season was a disappointment' thread

I agree. It was a slam dunk hire by Johnny IMO. As of now, the expectation for this season is the tournament. However, I'm not going to get too caught up in the end result this year. I just want to see sound defensive basketball and more intelligent play all-around (which should lead to a good end result). I know some hate hearing this but the following season will likely be when LSU basketball takes it to the next level. Depending on who returns, the '15 season could be special.

Glad he's coming to LSU, but unless CJJ can do a better job of x's and o's coaching and getting the most out of his talent, it wont matter much come march madness time
