Many posters are looking forward to having a dominant D-Line again this year with the talent and depth that has been added and coached. Besides the improvement in D-Line play and depth, one effect that hasn't been mentioned is how this change will benefit the offensive play calling style.

With a deeper better D-Line, Miles can be more aggressive with the offense knowing that he doesn't have to worry that the D-Line will be worn down in the 2nd half if LSU doesn't play ultra conservative ball control offense. It should be a major benefit to the Offense. What does the rant think?

I think you're correct that a stout defense affects its own offense's play calling. Unfortunately for many, this might be manifested in more ground and pound. Miles knows that if he goes 3 and out he'll probably get the ball right back, and eventually the opposing defense will crumble - except you know who.

I know we've all heard before about offensive inorovements but I truly believe this is a year that we see Les and cam open things up. I believe our rb's will get just as many touches like previous years when were stacked at Rb but it will be more than just running between tackles. Look for a lot more throws to the flats and rb screens. Lf and Guice need a lot of touches. They are too good not to get them the ball. Stoops went 8-5 and was on the hotseat when he finally opened the offense up. Same with Gary Patterson. Even Saban has done it. I think les has seen the light and will be added to that list of coaches who finally evolved their offense.

I don't know where everyone gets the idea that the offense is ultra conservative on every snap. Every game there were times where they'd be 4-5 wide but the QB just couldn't execute. Every pass play has deep routes and check downs. It just comes down to having a QB that knows when and how to get the ball to the guys at wideout.

Miles' MO has generally been to be conservative until he doesn't have a choice.

This is the key to the entire season.

Time to put up or shut up for LM and BH.

IF Harris shows no improvement early on in the passing game, Etling needs to get a shot.

Can't wait until the games against the "University of Alakansippi" fo find out that BH still doesn't have what it takes...........

Its called Group Think...

Most people are too lazy to investigate the facts and begin repeating nonsense because others are saying it. As a result it becomes the common narrative.

It is a pervasive malady in our society...

Harris is Les's boy. Will start & play the entire season unless he gets hurt!
