This play stands out in my mind more than any other play of the CWS.

I agree that DJ should have been MVP. But the way the announcers were on JM, DJ never stood a chance. JM is sooooooo fast that if he gets 10 more reps he will be enshrined in the MLB Hall of Fame his rookie year.
I love how people try to make their point about someone by slamming another player. I agree with DJ as MVP, but Jared did enough to warrant it also. He had a huge double with 2 out against Wood in Game 1 to get LSU in the game. I think you guys are more worried about it than D J.
I missed the chance to clarify my post that you objected to. I was not slamming JM, but the ESPN influence on the MVP voting. Besides the announcers love for JM, the ESPN cameras were consistently showing JM in the dugout. I'm for ANYTHING positive shown towards ANYTHING LSU, but felt that DJ was not given the award he deserved, due to ESPN. JM's selection in the 1st rd was based , in part to his tremendous upside potential. This put the ESPN spotlight on him and had the announcers prepared to talk about him. But performance in the series is what the MVP trophy should be based on. IMHO, DJ was at a distinct disadvantage. IMHO, DJ's game tying hit in game 1, denied Texas a 7th CWS Championship.
ps Thank you Jared Mitchell for all that you have given as a Tiger. I meant no disrespect.

Mitchell had some clutch hits and had an incredible post-season. He was certainly deserving. That said, DJ was at least equally deserving. He was clutch. That hit in the ninth of Game 1 was the biggest of the CWS. It really was the difference in the game. Not only did it tie the game, but it charged up the team and the fans. Everyone there knew that LSU was going to win that game at that point.
