Yup designated for assignment, could be a useful utility type player for someone. Andy Sheets made a career out of it and a nice living.

Congrats DJ. One of my favorite Tigers at 2B.

I was actually very surprised they sent him back down to start the year. The Rockies are a much improved team this year, and DJ is one hell of a 2nd baseman.

That .260 average last year was impressive for a rookie second baseman. Or any second baseman really. Hell of a lot better than Danny Espinosa's "stellar" .163 average this year for the Nationals

Just saw an article that he also hit .305 with RISP last year in the majors. Which is, let's face it, quite clutch.

Reason we won the CWS in '09

This is so true. Championship Game 1 vs. Texas: led off 8th with a home run to cf to bring us closer. Doubled in the tying runs with 2 out in the 9th. Led off the 11th with a walk, stole second, went to third on a throwing error, and scored the winning run on Mahtook's hit.
Without him, we lose game 1. Texas won game 2. There would have been no game 3.

Really glad to see him get another opportunity in the big leagues.

Goddamn he was good in college. His length in the field was awesome to watch. All-time LSU team as a defensive player and it seems his hitting is getting to be very, very good in AAA. Always one of the most clutch players during his time at LSU.

Good job DJ

Wasn't he Manieri's first LSU commit? He was committed to Notre Dame I believe then switched...

Sucks for Brignac. Should have gone to LSU and maybe you could have lasted longer.
