I think Saban's defense will beat Jimbo's offense just as easy as Miles.

We should actually have a reasonably competent passing game, and Jimbo won't try to overpower Bama running in I formation 70% of the time so I disagree.

No, only a few didn't like him and that will be with every and any OC...

Jimbo has actually mentored 3 1st round round QBs at FSU: Ponder, Manuel, and Winston.
I always forget Ponder Probably because I always think about his wife instead.

The Boom as DC possibility has been out there on TD since early afternoon. Radio just reading TD.

Can't really remember but when finding out he was leaving I was very upset. So whatever that tells you.

One common theme- everyone hated every OC in the miles era

Hes does not have a grand innovative scheme but he can develop qbs. I didnt love the playcalling but I can only count one season where the qb spot was a failure and that was 2004. I dont know if it was Saban or Jimbo but it was inexcusable to start Randal (who by all indications is a great guy) over the future number 1 NFL draft pick. 1 year out of all the years he was here and then at FSU.....Ill take it.

The Rant bitches about everybody. We haven't developed a quarterback recruit since Jimbo left.

Jimbo developed dameyune craig at Auburn.
Booty, Davey, Russell, and Flynn at LSU.
He recruited and developed three excellent QBs a Florida St.
What is not to like?

I liked him and wanted him to get the head coaching job after saban went to Miami.
Most people here bitched and moaned about him. They wanted him throwing the ball downfield 40 times a game.
His play calling was well balanced and centered around ball control via the head coach's instruction. He didn't take a lot of risks. Which helped LSU avoid losing the turnover battle in most games.

What? 3 years ago we had a 1000 yard rb and 2 1000 yard wrs. Same OC we have now. Different talent

Uh, Almost all of Miles' offenses and every QB he has coached (not recruited and coached by Saban and Jimbo)outside of Mett have sucked.

Even 2011 the offense was one dimensional, especially when JJ got all the playing time back. Just had an offense and a defense that could wear down every program in the country, except one. Look up the passing yards towards the end of the season that year.

Mett had to learn the system year one and offense was decent. Year two offense was good but defense was weak that season.

2005, 2006 was Jamarcus Russell, 2007 was Matt Flynn. Both recruited by Saban and developed by Jimbo...and Jimbo is a hell of a recruiter too.

So one JUCO transfer in 11 seasons is the only decent QB play to come from Les Miles, regardless who the OC has been. This year looked like it was going to be decent to good with QB play, but the whole team basically imploded after being beat by Bama AGAIN. Plus Steele's defense sucks.

Some will same the same shite every year...the team is young, we don't have the talent this year, as if LSU is the only program where Juniors go to the NFL. Every program that recruits a lot of talent loses more of it early to the NFL. LSU may have the most in recent years but other programs are right there with them, so the difference in the number of people leaving is negligible. Bama deals with it every year, same with tOSU, etc.

That's what I don't like about Jimbo. We have discipline issues too...all colleges do...but it seems FSU has more than usual.

Not so fast. Football player arrests by year:

2015 LSU 5 FSU 2
2014 LSU 4 FSU 8 (There was a cancer on the team.)
2013 LSU 4 FSU 3
2012 LSU 0 FSU 4
2011 LSU 3 FSU 5

So, except for an odd year with Winston, FSU is pretty much on par with LSU. These are college kids we're talking about here. It seems QB's with issues can create an environment where others may make mistakes, too. We've (LSU) have had a few of them over the last 8 years, too. Unfortunately, players follow the leader even outside of the football arena.

College football has had 181 arrests this year...253 last year. It's an aggressive sport with aggressive people playing the sport. Their natural aggressiveness leads to bad behavior off the field.

I really did. Counted it as a significant loss when he and Pelini left. Felt like they worked with Miles well. Wanted Fisher as head coach in waiting like Muschamp was at UT

Seems to me most on the Rant didn't really support him back then.

In all fairness, it's common knowledge that rant support has a half-life of 1.5 years.

Saban was high on Randal, really liked him, and I believe actually let feelings get in the way that season. Probably why the only feelings Saban tends to display is anger...lol
