Did UF really get insurance payout from cancelled game?

Heard it suggested on here, but haven't seen proof of this.
If true, wouldn't that constitute insurance fraud, since the game was playable?
If I'm the insurer, I'm not paying a dime. If Florida sues, I subpoena Joe Alleva to testify at the hearing.
I'd also look into criminal charges for Jeremy Foley if in fact Florida collected on insurance to compensate from lost revenue from a game that could have easily been played.
All that said, can anyone confirm if insurance played any role in this?

Was Gainesville the only town hit by this storm? Was the damage more severe there than anywhere else?

The payout would be for lost revenue from the game. Since the game was playable with a myriad of options available to make it happen, collecting on such a policy - as has been suggested on here but not substantiated - would seem to constitute fraud.
It's kind of like trying to collect on a homeowner's policy after a hurricane when your home wasn't affected.

The game was to be played today. You think an insurance company already handed over millions and millions of dollars?
You guys cannot be this stupid, right?

If they haven't or at least haven't agreed to, it would seem to serve as an incentive for Foley to put his dick back in his pants and agree to play the game.

No, but UCF cancelled their game with Tulane in Orlando today too

They shouldn't. That's falsifying information.

Their game was supposed to be yesterday and they postponed it, they didn't cancel

Doesn't mean they didnt lose revenue??
If I get vacation insurance, and a family member dies. Ins. still pay my expenses
And guess what? I can still reschedule that vacay later
Posted on 10/8/16 at 3:21 pm to RobbBobb
No, they actually rescheduled their game for November.

Weather cancellation policies normally have some vague definitions and terms to benefit the underwriter. Example would be "make all reasonable efforts to play the game, and/or mitigate losses".
Seriously doubt an underwriter would pay UofForfeit in this instance as they made no reasonable efforts to play said game.

the insurance company will fight it in court with their lawyers before they spend a few million just for the hell of it. who wins? could care less.

If I was the insurance company I wouldn't pay. There were a lot of options to get this game played and Florida chose not to play.

Wouldn't they hold out on payment until they decide whether to play the game later in the year?
