Did LSU switch to the new jersey numbers because they are more slimming?

Is LSU's defense.. LBs in particular.. smaller than years past or do the streamlined numbers give them better figures?

I'm pretty sure that the new numbers are the geaux font, atleast that is what it appears to be.

Kids like the small numbers. That's why guys fight over single digit numbers. The smaller style makes even big numbers like 33 look better.
