deserved to get canned because of his lousy offense but the numbers don't lie dumb frick.
Actually he has the top 4 LSU scoring Os*, all under different OCs (*LSU Media Guide).
I think his exit was due fwiw.

You've been hearing excuses for Danny Etling for years? First off he's played 11 games so nobody has been making excuses for him for years. You're not only telling a lie what you're saying is impossible lol. Secondly why would anyone have to make excuses for him? He saved our season he's never cost us a game he's never been benched an he's never had a disastrous game. Just because when you spew lies and nonsense ppl respond with facts that's not making excuses it's called living in reality. As opposed to your make believe world where McMillan is an elite athlete with a rocket arm ( 5.08 40 and can't throw a ball 50 yards) or Lindsey Scott is a superstar because you say so even though he wasn't offered by a single above avg college program besides us. What kind of fan roots against a college player from his own team?

That's the problem isn't it. Les didn't know when a player especially quarterback wasn't playing well. JJ vs Lee and Mettenburger. Welter vs Beckwith and a lot more examples I'm sure.

Coach O was in no way disrespectful to Danny. He didn't play well in the game but O said he played well other days

Perfectly fine with saying that about a player. This is a NEW era in LSU football. Nick says it all the time, everything seems to be working out over there. Les was way to soft with those players anyway.

it simply depends on the player. considering the leadership role of any QB, I agree that the head coach should be able to unload on him. It goes without saying that a good QB should have broad shoulders that at least transmit the look of a leader.

all that said, I reflect back to it depending on each individual player. There should (and more than likely is) also be a mutual agreement between player(s) and coach...

Maybe he should have done that more often instead of coddling some of the players. The NFL will tell you if you stink up a play. No mercy because it's all about the $$$. Not a Saban fan but he definitely tells you when you stink it up. He prepares you for the NFL and all of the pressure that goes with it.

You mean the former coach how was fired after the Auburn debacle? I could not care less what he thinks about coach O or the LSU football program.

To me it comes of as a bit convenient and self-serving to hide behind the "protecting the players" mantra.

If I remember correctly, when Etling replaced Harris during the Jacksonville St game or the game after that, Les made some comments about Etling making mistakes to a reporter. So, Fauk you Les Miles.

Well, at the very least, we now have a HC who can construct a sentence with decent syntax and grammar.

He's gung ho LSU, and he really didn't do that bad of a job last season with the shite show he inherited at the time.

Miles will be lucky if he can get on with a lower tier D-1 school. I still think he ought to go back to the NFL as an assistant. Then again, I don't think they were beating his door down either.

"Mess Miles" may need to just get used to retirement and coaching recreational football.

That said, I am sure that if Miles' mouth gets too far out of bounds, the administration can crack down on the termination/exit aspects of his contract to make a point. Les needs to move on, as do the rest of us.

I am pretty sure that Les would throw another player under the bus when his QB was particularly bad.

Here's the FACT

If Les Miles as HC at LSU said anything to the effect that a player didn't get it done, this board would shite itself trying to post about the HC throwing a player under the bus.

But since O did it, and he's one of us and all than its what should be done

If you think that little quip by CEO was bad, watch Mike Leach's rant after a loss where he refers to his players being more concerned with their "fat little girlfriends" than with playing football. Funny stuff.
