Did Coach O have an offensive coordinator locked up in his package?

Serious question. Did he have a Lane Kiffin bundled in when he met Joe about the job? What put him over the top? I am fine with his hire. I know that Les was suppose to be gathering a staff for his next hire. Most coaches have a staff lined up.

His cousin Fran agreed to take over special teams.

No. wants to hire the best one out there. Similar to Aleva wanting to hire the best head coach out there.

From this point forward, I hope CEO, Alleva, and the rest of the staff are using the 'how to beat Bama' as the criteria. Because let's be honest:
A) The biggest, not the only but for sure the biggest, hurdle to getting to the SECCG every year.
B) If you can score enough against Bama to win 50% of the time, then you can beat any other D out there. They are the current gold standard. Might as well admit it and work to fix it.
So, the hope/wish is they are currently looking at systems, and the person to implement & run said system. A true zone read comes to mind (whether HUNH or Spread concepts are used beside the point). We will see said the zen master.
