Does Edwards-Helaire have similar speed?

CEH doesn't have the speed Henderson has, but CEH is bulkier and can run between the tackles if we need him to. I don't see Canada using CEH the same way he used Henderson, I think Gage and Dillon will be used in similar ways.

GREAT .gif! I'll take the same play in Nov on a little swing pass in the flat inside the Bama 20.
Just don't show him the ball or they'll penalize us 15 and take the play back

If he hadn't been a solid LSU commit he probably would have been a 4*.

CEH is 30 lbs heavier and 2" shorter. Built more like a Rb. He can play at a high level at rb or as a slot guy. He's gonna be a versatile weapon for sure. CEH is fast but not elite speed. I think we will see a lot of guys with elite speed in that slot role. I'm sure we will see him there though some.

I don't see Gage being used in the sweep too often. He is a great high motor guy, but doesn't have great top end speed or agility like Chark and Dillon.

Only shiftIer and quicker....CEH is Barry Sandersesque in running style. I did not say he's the next Barry Sanders.

I agree he's better then T Magee. He may not have top end speed but he has short field quickness which is really what you want. As a back you want to get to top speed asap.

Idk if you guys ever tried to tackle a back with his size, quickness, balance, and shifts but it's incredibly hard to get a hand on these guys much less tackle them. It's very hard to see how hard they are running and you over run these guys all the time. He isn't just small/quick but extremly powerful as well. He's going to give teams fits. I think he's perfect for a team like Bama.

When I think about all the potential weapons LSU has on offense it's really exciting. The TE/WRs we have like Washington, Moreau, Pettigrew, and Drake Davis should all be crazy good options in the redzone. This was one of our weak links last year so I'm hoping it was a real key focus going into this year. Find ways to score once we get inside the 20 or in goal line situations.

For me I would think it would be easy to fake the sweep then have 3 big targets all go to different positions in the endzone to create an open space. One on a slant, one on a post another to the corner all faking one route with a step then hitting the real route after to create separation. One of the 3 DBs would be fooled, or just give it to the sweep man have him step back and throw it to a TE who was blocking and slipped to the corner of the EZ.

All kinds of things you can do if you get creative. I like the EZ fake slant have the inside guy bump the corner then head out to the sideline play. That play works really well if performed right. Throw the ball either low or high depending on where the DB is playing. We have to get more creative down there which is what I think Canada was brought here to do. Can't wait. It's time we see LSU with 56 points and our opponents with 10 again.

I take it to be like Cecil Collins in high school. Teams would load the box and the coaches would run it up the middle with Cecil every play, or damn near it, if not every play.

It would be 3rd and 8, crowds loud and excited, hand the ball to Cecil, Cecil runs into the mob of defenders and gets swallowed up, crowd goes quiet, an instant later Cecil pops out of the back of the mob and runs for a touchdown, crowd goes berserk.

Yep, just like in the gif on the first page and right below your post. The guy CEH is facing off against is supposed to be one of top LB's in the country. CEH made him look like they grabbed some guy out of the stands who had been drinking all day and had just eaten a heavy lunch.

According to Dandy Don's website Pitt had an offense that ranked 8th nationally in red-zone TDs.

or just give it to the sweep man have him step back and throw it to a TE who was blocking and slipped to the corner of the EZ.

Or you could just hand it to the offensive tackle on sweep and let him rumble, bumble and stumble across the goal line for a touchdown.
Video will open at the play: https://youtu.be/QopRTVWq5M0?t=640

Way more wiggle and change of direction than Magee ever had. I hate to use the comparison but his style is a lot like Sanders was and sized very similar. Here's hoping he achieves potential and gets close to that level of badassery
