Did anyone else hear Harvey Williams rip on George Whitfield yesterday?

He was on Culotta and Ponamsky yesterday.
He said Whitfield is trying to teach the same throwing motion to all the kids and it really screws up the majority. Harris has been traveling to Whitfield camps since HS.
Harvey said his own son went to a Whitfield camp and they altered his motion to a point where he couldn't complete a 5 yard out. He then went on to say that he sent his son to work with former LSU OC Ed Zaunbrecher and he corrected the things that Whitfield had changed and he's back to being accurate on the short/intermediate routes.
You can look around the landscape of football and see countless throwing motions that achieve success. For example: Phillip River shotputs his passes and he's been in the NFL for over a decade.
If Whitfield had gotten ahold of Rivers he probably never starts at NCSt.

Never understood why he is so regarded.

Yeah he destroyed Whitfield, brought his son to him, destroyed his mechanics and brought him back

He's a good old boy with guys like Cam Cameron. He's a complete sham. I wouldn't let him coach a peewee quarterback.

Well, that explains what happened to Harris.

Whitfield is bullshite.
He's ruined many HS hopefuls. Seriously.
Guys a sham.

I think Whitfield is mostly a snake oil salesman for acting like coming to him guarantees a kid a college scholarship but he's worked with many successful QBs. Whitfield definitely has a better track record than the coaching Harris is getting here.

This. Why is he so regarded?

Wait a minute! That can't be true. All the hall of fame coaches that litter the rant swear up and down that whoever has problems and whatever their problems are, the blame falls solely at the feet of Miles and Cameron.

What is Harvey Williams doing these days?

Living in Houston and still bleeds P&G.
If his son is a big time recruit, I expect him to be at LSU.

I heard that interview and was really surprised but I guess that's why Harris can't complete screen passes or 5 yard outs

I think the guys who Whitfield has worked with that turn out to be excellent QBs, are already destined to be excellent.
If a QB works with Whitfield once, he takes some credit for their success when they succeed.

You can't say for sure he didn't help.

Fantastic post & observation. As a former golf professional, teacher & player this hit home with me.
All instructors have a method they feel is best. Teaching that same method to every student makes one a whore in my opinion. If the student buys into the theory and does not improve, then it's on the instructor to find a method that does allow improvement.
Looking at the throws BH has made this year it is very possible that he is thinking technique over see target hit target. I could go for more but then it becomes TLDR.

Say what you want, but dude knows what he's doing. Sure, some of the guys have been busts, but that's with anything. Whitfield is that dude.

I think people fall for guru's easily if they do something different, like the beach footwork stuff.
Jamais was already a great natural QB, and just who has Whitfield actually transformed?

I'm sure he does. I'm not criticizing his method/philosophy, don't know nor care what it is. It may be the absolute best mechanical method in the history of throwing a football. I'm looking at it from a mental perspective. BH came to LSU with a fricking cannon for an arm. His first pass last week came out sideways. To me that is the equivalent of a shanked golf shot. It didn't get much better from there. My question is he focusing on the physical process too much.
