Eddie Nunez.
His bio states Miami connection.

Read DALSU profile. His location states Miami. Yesterday, he started a thread stating Ed O is talking to Miami.

Pretty much officially gives away that Alexander made the decision.
This wasn't really being debated though. At least not in the last week or so.

They are now dealing with their own state legislature's gripe that over 50% of enrollment is from OOS, and the retention rate of recent graduates in the state is poor. So the state's investment isn't paying off.
Obviously they'd prefer that smart kids who come to UA for school from OOS stay in Alabama, but I'm not sure we can call it "brain drain" if the kids weren't from Alabama in the first place. Alabama didn't pay to educate them, they came to Alabama for school and often paid the $24k OOS tution, and then they left - and will likely serve as ambassadors for the University wherever they end up.
But I understand and appreciate the argument. I strongly believe that the mission of state schools should be to provide a quality, affordable education to state residents. I would hate to see LSU become Michigan or UVA, because those schools are largely out of reach for kids from Michigan and Virginia. I would point to Texas and Florida as models, but for the reasons I mentioned earlier, Louisiana just doesn't have the same built-in advantages of two of the most populous states in the country. Clemson or Iowa are probably better models.

This is getting good.

Rolfe Mccollister is the one who gets it.

See, e.g., the University of Alabama. It's leveraged football success into an explosion of OOS enrollment (and thus OOS tuition $$$).

I understand there's a balance, LSU and Bama are on both extremes as it relates to this issue.
And really, Alabama needs to do everything they can to widen the gene pool. Add some branches to a few family trees.

When I was a student at LSU the Reveille published an article comparing tuition at LSU to other SEC schools, UT and aTm (still big12 at the time). Because of the tremendous amount of state funding LSU receives (a tradition started by Huey Long) it is far less expensive than any other comparable school. LSU's current tuition is about 3-4K a semester. Other comparable schools are atleast double that amount, some much more.
Who the f would pay 24K a semester to go to bama?

If DA was verge, he would have been more sure of his information. You could tell DA was getting second hand info
I'm not claiming DALSU is Verge, but Verge is certainly wily enough to disguise his posts--making it seem like he was getting the info secondhand when it was really straight from the horse's mouth.

Those emails are from 1:24pm and clearly Miles was being retained. Why are they saying decision was made in the 3rd quarter? (that night)

I'm pretty sure LSU has repeatedly denied this.

I don't believe so.
The media ran with a bunch of incorrect information throughout this entire process.

A meeting was held in the 3rd quarter of the game to finalize it but Alexander said that the decision had pretty much been reached earlier in the day.

LSU's in-state tuition is $8,827. Out-of-state: $26,236. Times have changed, friend. The availability of unlimited student loans has incentivized schools to jack up the cost of tuition.
