Devin had only three tackles against OM, well less than the 15 and 13 he had against AU and Fla. Admittedly. OM relies on the pass, but White had fewer tackles than either Taylor or Phillips. Anybody watch his play closely?

Sometimes White has a problem with over pursuing the play. I saw him do it a few times with those run plays up the middle that gashed us. Surely Aranda will see it on film and relay it to Devin.

Devin may be one of the main reasons Orgeron mentioned the team was looking tired during the week. White played two great games against tough run-oriented opponents back-to-back while keeping up his 10+ tackle production as a middle linebacker.

I am a big fan of White, but wondered if the schemed around some perceived weakness or if he just had an off game. We gave up some big yardage on some of those running plays...

I believe he was in pass coverage more so than usual.

I saw him in the middle of the field on one long run not even looking up and eating chicken on a stick.

It looked to me like he was sent up the middle a lot and ate up defenders and let edge guys make more plays.

Ole Miss pass to run ratio is like 70-30. He had to drop back in coverage more.

Devin White has more than earned the benefit of the doubt. He can have a quiet game every now and then.

Definitely had an off-game by his standards. Missed several tackles

He's a beast, doing what the coaches ask of him. Nothing more needs to be said. I don't know the game planning for each individual team - do you?

Basically 2 wks. off prior to a very grueling game coming up is just what the Dr. ordered since the game w/ Ole Miss was not in question.....

It's nice that DW and the entire defense are playing well enough now that they can have an "off-game" and still do enough to help the team win comfortably.

It's very difficult to be emotionally fired-up for all 12 games. That's why you need talent that can still win without playing their best.

You may have hit on something there..."Team".

As others have mentioned, I think this is more other players stepping up this week (and a lot more pass coverage).

This defense is gelling. Wonder how they will look against Bama.

Ole miss made it a point to get blockers on him, a lot of times our dlineman were single blocked they or tried to get backside ppl to them just so they could get guys on White. It allowed others to make plays and you saw some missed tackles because of it. He didn't play bad they just made a conscious effort to make sure he was occupied as much as possible. Plus they threw the ball a lot outside of the numbers.

I'm not a Locature fan but he's had his best season by far. His numbers are way up and I think playing DE in the 3-4 has helped him tremendously. That's where he played in HS if I'm remembering correctly and he was a 5* at that position in some recruiting services.
