Blitz the frick out of Hurts , let Devin White play the middle and spy him . Let our DBs play press man and force Hurts to make perfect tough throws all night .

Thing is: their RBs are studs.

Even better reason to blitz them , I’m sure we have a guy that can cover them but we need to fill those gaps and make the runs spill outside . Their backs are strong inside runners, not so much speed guys.

Basically the second half of the Auburn game should be the defensive game plan.

Canada will need to extend drives with a lot of fly sweeps to keep Alabama off balance so that the defense can get some rest

It's not that easy. From what I've seen from my limited time watching them, their rec's catch the ball much better than ours. They would make us pay.

I do think that we need to blitz much more though. Those impotent 3 man rushes from yesterday were driving me nutz.

You are you going to beat Bama by trying to out Bama Bama?

That's a bold strategy, Cotton.....

Aranda needs to pull out the zone blitzes. That way we can keep guys in coverage (especially watching the screens) and still get pressure.

Crowd the line, make Hurts pass to beat us.

Hurts is improved this year, but still limited as a passer. He looks to run quickly, and can really hurt you when he tucks it and goes. Devin White will need to be superman in this game.

If you can keep Hurts in the pocket, its better for LSU. Blitzing will force LBs and DBs into man coverage turning their backs, and allow Hurts to break runs. I'd rather allow him to try and win the game with his arm. 4 man rush, drop 7 into zones with White playing as a spy in a shallow zone. Hope Arden Key can play hard for 4 quarters and force Hurts into a few bad decisions.

Gotta stack the box to stop the run, and hope the LBs and safeties can recover into coverage against the pass fast enough to disrupt the passing game.

Bama O-line is better than LSU D-line

They have a stable of fresh backs to keep throwing out there running between the huge holes their line creates.

LSU front 7 will have to be very disciplined. Against lesser opponents they can maybe be a little out of position but recover. Not here though.

Load the box to stop the run, edge containment and let the DBs do their thing.

Of course if the LSU offense cants give the D some rest between possessions it'll be MSU all over again

This year tbey are so good and deep at RB. Last year those backs were hurt & young. And the power run up the middle is what aranda's style is susceptible to at times. He love to attack from the perimeter and take the perimeter run away especially with running qbs. This worries me. How do u defend 2-3 NFL backs with hurts the most electric runner in football who happens to have a cannon.

I strongly disagree here. Hurts can throw the ball for 95 yards for all I care, it still has to be to someone.

Aranda did it last year and I have confidence he will do it again. My biggest concern is how much rest the defense gets. Canada needs to win the time of possession fight and keep the Bama defense on the field.

All you are forgetting the elephant in the corner. The o-line will get to hold and their defensive unit will be able to take cheap shots anytime they want. To beat bama LSU has to also beat the refs.

Well, that’s not the way Bama defends us. They defend us by having their superior athletes on the dline shove our oline into our backfield. And, yes, I’m all in favor of that.

If you do that then Hurts takes off running for days.

They gonna run, then run some more. Battle will be won or lost in the trenches.
