What do you think about David Shaw as a potential replacement? I feel he could be a breath of fresh air and recruit very well. I would think that money wouldn't be an issue in bringing him here and he'd have access to so much HS talent in our state.

He is on my very short list.

He has been successful at every level and a couple of years ago he was only making $2.2 mil

He's an ideal fit at Stanford. I don't see the benefit in him trying something so drastically different unless the money intrigued him. Trent Johnson had a horrible time adjusting to the cultural differences. I doubt that would ever happen.

Not going OT style, but I don't think Shaw would be welcomed at LSU.

No way he's leaving the bay. He loves it there. He is on my list, but just for the sake of having names.

I'd rather David Shaw than Herman or Jimbo. He runs our offense, but the way it should be run.
David Shaw would have gotten Fournette three Heisman trophy's at LSU and a national championship.

He is West Coast heavy but he has lived all over the US in his life. Unless he got a big raise he was making half of what Les makes and we probably would pay more than that.

He is one of my favorite coaches in college football. He passes the eye test in nearly ever respect: consistent, classy, successful, etc.

However, I cannot imagine under any circumstances him leaving Stanford...unless the NFL comes calling.

Shaw is just as stubborn as Miles. I remember him not adjusting against Mich St in the Rose Bowl. No thanks.

He's not leaving his aluma mater to come to LSU. Plus there's better coaches out there.

Well, of course, but he has a great gig he loves at "The Tree". Not very likely at all.

David Shaw is an outstanding coach.
But, he is not leaving the West Coast for the South.

At Stanford he makes good money (not SEC money), but he has a low pressure lifestyle.

Why would his family want to move and take a risk?
