Some cliff notes from the interview:

Donnie Alexander is stepping up to a team leader role similar to Duke. He's also added weight.

Arden Key is the man but they have a different package/scheme for when he's not in

He believes a key component to having a great defense is playing as many guys as possible and taking advantage of their individual skill sets

Todd Harris has a great mental approach. He shows up to meetings early, is picking up the scheme quickly, has great focus during practices

He doesn't like vacations or at least never goes on vacation. He recently was on vacation for 2 weeks and he loved spending time with his family but at a certain point he just wanted to go somewhere and watch game film.

He wants to be like Coach Ensminger when he gets older. (This might be my new sig quote)

ETA: He also talked about Matt Canada and how he's great a changing the pace or tempo. It's not always uptempo and that in a sense makes it more difficult to defend.

I really hope LSU goes all in to make him the head coach should the Orgeron experiment fail. The guy is just dialed in to football at all times.

Any day that Dave Aranda is LSU's defensive coordinator is a good day.

Possibly the worst poster on TD calling someone else a troll. That's rich. Idiot.

If LSU is willing to make him the head coach should Orgeron fail, they should make him the head coach before Orgeron fails.

Hilariously you calling someone else a bad poster. They don't get worse than you.

That sounds great for Harris but until they strap on the pads I'll reserve judgment.

Alleva has always hired coaches with previous head coaching experience. It is one of his main criteria. I like it personally. LSU is not a place where you learn how to be a head coach.

Maybe so, but Aranda would be a hire from within and he's also the associate HC. Even if O struggles this season, I doubt he is let go after one year. Aranda would be given time to grow at LSU. Honestly though, I suspect Aranda's next move will be to the NFL as a DC.

If orgeron fails alleva won't be making that hire.

Aranda is better suited for a Def Cord than a HC. That's just my opinion. I like his comments about Canada changing pace so much. How he speeds up then slows down which is tough to adjust to. All the motions and shifts to create matchups that are favorable. I'm pumped !!

Also now Aranda and O have both said Harris is catching on really fast to everything. All the hype has been for grant and Jacoby but maybe Harris is that gem no one expects.

I'm probably just being a downer, but I read this as meaning Key isn't going to play much, if any.

Who else "heard" that wanting to be like Steve Ensmimger, means he likes being a long term assistant?

Let's hope that is the case, and that he likes college ball vs NFL.

If so, and he likes the talent that's available to him to coach up, that he will remain a Tiger and make others squirm.

I agree, but I would make an exception for Aranda.
