re: Danny Etling vs Lindsey Scott Jr. Honestly who should start next season?

Lol....that's all I can say. Oh I know, Canada's new offense will magically fix the accuracy and decision making process of Harris. I'm sorry, Harris had his chance

Etling is a smart QB will average talent and skill. He's a great SEC backup QB. He can get us 8 or 9 wins next season, but it's likely going to take a more capable QB to put us over the top in a few games next season.

LOL. Harris still has a chance whether you like it or not.

Scott hasn't played a down and all of a suddeen he is better than Etling. Crazy.

The answer is whoever Canada says should start. Sorry if that's not a fresh take.
If Canada is the real deal, he will get the most production out of these guys. Installing a system that extracts every bit of potential out of these kids is the key.
We were talking about how LSU needs a Baker Mayfield. I think Oklahoma's staff could take any of our guys and have them better than they played here, and that's because of the system. If none of these guys is at least serviceable, then I'd start to doubt that we have a good enough system in place.

Anyone who answers this question as if they have any way of evaluating the choices is a tard

Need a full competition. Danny may very well be the best qb on the roster next year. But if he is, expect another four loss season.

Does anybody really know if Scott can live up to his senior year press clippings or is it all speculation at this point? I don't care how tall he is if he can get the job done. Look at 5 ft. 11 in. Russell Williams. Nonetheless, if all this speculation is based on press clipping alone and wishful thinking, then all of it is hype.
As far as Harris goes, let's just say that I don't hold out much hope in that dude. I don't think he has what it takes. Hopefully, he will surprise me, but please forgive me if I won't hold my breath waiting for it to happen.
At this point, it's probably Etling or Scott if Scott isn't only a press clipping. I think four star commit Myles Brennan has plenty of potential, strong accurate arm and plenty of speed, but he's probably two or three years away. Don't know enough about Lowell Narcisse, but he is a four star, and I virtually know nothing of McMillan, except he is a project quarterback I believe going on his fourth year.

Four games huh? Wow...you are a depressing MF. Even with a new offense and even though we just got rid of our biggest problem, Les Miles. Damn...go blow your brains out.

I haven't seen Scott play since the Spring game, so I have no idea how good he is at this point.
I don't blame anyone for not expecting Harris to get it together. However, the thought that he is just here to sit the bench and that the coaches won't give him a legit shot is ridiculous.
Any chance a talented QB outside of the SEC will be interested in transferring to LSU?

And if you think Etling as he played this year is going to get us through against good defenses you havent been paying attention.

Harris is going to get a shot. No reason to think he can't improve.
I mean how hard can it be to throw an accurate pass 15 yards or less?
How has Harris not figured this out yet? If this was one of the worst parts of my game I would spend every waking moment working on this simple concept.
Sometimes I think Harris is perfectly fine with not being the starter. The things that make Harris not good seem to be things that the average qb has mastered.

how the frick did I get 9 downvotes for saying harris lacks pretty much everything that makes a good QB successful? Please share Harris' strengths with me
Posted on 1/3/17 at 12:56 pm to crkelly91
can do both. switch them in and out like flynn and periloux for the championship season. fresh legs all the time :)

Etling easy. Scott will be passed up by incoming freshman
Posted on 1/3/17 at 1:21 pm to Zetnom41
Etling and not close. Senior leadership and played in big games.
