but those don't start with calling our coach a buffoon.
I understand this sentiment and don't like the name calling either because I think Les is a genuinely great guy and obviously wants the best for the program and players. What he has done for the past 5 attempts against Bama, however, meets the modern definition of insanity. Even the casual observer knew that the game plan for Bama on defense would be to stop LF7. While that certainly doesn't mean that our coaches should avoid using our best weapon, it should mean that we have adjustments ready if Bama's plan succeeds.

HOWEVER, Nick Saban's record against Alabama at LSU was 4-1 (80%)

It was a different time. Saban's record against UF during that time was 2-3; and 2-3 vs Aburn.

It is frustrating that Miles doesn't have a clue on how to beat a team that is stronger than LSU in the trenches. But LSU is stronger than 99% of the teams in the trenches so what do you do (as an LSU fan)?

Sigh! Les Miles quote showed me we have very little chance of ever beating Alabama until Saban is gone.

It is sad because even though alabama is better in the trenches than LSU this year, I still think we have the better team. But like was stated. LSU doesn't take what is given to them they do what they think they (LSU) does best.

Better team with an stupid game plan = a loss.

I can't understand why he didn't have a contingency plan in place.

I agree.. During Spring and August, the offensive staff should have designed a dozen or more plays with new formations, motions, and tempo that would be saved and showcased exclusively for this game, if needed.

And........ one year further back

Sat, Nov 05 2011 #2 Alabama * 1 at Tuscaloosa, W, 9-6 (OT) A WIN but.............. Bama needed to miss 3 field goals for us to get to OT and then they missed their 4th field goal for us to win. Not exactly the arse whipping you'd like to put on your arch rival once in a blue moon.

and they didn't because in Les' fantasy world he knows our big uglies can beat their big uglies in the trenches despite the failure to do that so many times in the past. Are our players as good as Bama? Probably so but if the other team knows where you're going they can stop you even if they have inferior talent. Les needs an intervention.

This is such bullshite! The reason LSU can't beat Bama is because they can't build well enough. It isn't HOW they're building the team. If our oline was better, and our dline was deeper, we can beat Bama with our style.

Bama has the number one class every year (except maybe this year, finally). We average about #7 or 8. That's a huge difference. That's why they're beating us.

The difference is we are always recruiting for need, which forces young guys to play immediately. They recruit for depth, and usually have more juniors and seniors on the lines.

But this implies that LSU actually beats every other team with this offense, and we know that's not true. It's not like LSU finishes 12-1 every year. LSU struggled offensively against a lot of teams and USUALLY can overcome by sheer talent. Just think what a modicum of creativity might do.

So sorry you are tired of hearing it, but doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results is exactly what Les is doing.
